Love Is An Ocean
Love is an ocean, so mysterious and deep.
It teems with life and bristles with energy,
Dazzling even the most unshakable spirits into mesmerization.
But sometimes even it has its victims,
So everything does in its own turn.
As it tosses its hostages about in a thoughtless manner,
There is always a survivor, always a valiant save.
Still there is one lost, hopeless and gone,
Mauled and defenseless in the frail, fickle fabric of destiny,
Deserted to face a raging tempest of troubles and problems,
Until they can continue through life no more
and wilt away from the vine.
Yet to others it is gentle, soft and comforting with its greatness,
Wrapping them in its placid and peaceful arms of care,
Guarding eternally from foes and enemies.
To nobody does it whisper the direction of one's path.
Instead, it leads them blindly aloft through deadly games
of chance and fate.
And while the life of many pass in its clutches,
It feels nothing, not a drop of compassion or mercy or pain.
Though many feel they have control, they do not,
For it is a powerful force, churning its own song,
Playing its own rhythm against the beating of any heart.
