The Bishop can move any number of squares diagonally if it's path is not blocked. Note that there is two forms of a Bishop, a white (light) tile Bishop and a black (dark) tile Bishop. These pieces are restricted to the original colour tiles.

Opposite is an example of the Bishop's taking pieces off the board, as you can see, there is no distance restriction. But there is a limited amount of squares for each Bishop to travel on.
