Ally has been writing since her early school days. She wrote her first short story in the 8th Grade, An American Dream, depicting the story of her great grandfather who emigrated from England to America as a cabin boy on a ship. Later that same year she wrote her first play. Since that moment on, she yearned to put her own original plays on the stage.

She studied writing with the Children’s Institute of Literature for two years. Receiving much of her theatrical background from her high school and college days, studying at Albano's School of Performing Arts at 15. Directing experience comes from various mentors and teachers along the way from high school to college and beyond.

In 1990 her theater and writing dreams were realized creating an all-original theater group, Downstairs Production Company (DPC). Since 1990, Ally has written over 100 DPC scripts to date, as well as directed most of them. She has performed in over 100 productions in DPC alone.

For 5 years, she created, wrote and directed theDPC Kids' Theater and Workshop, teaching acting to children age 8 to 14. The children’s productions included musical comedy adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood, Mirror, Mirror on the Wall (Snow White, her original musical, Storybook and Jack and the Beanstalk & A Creature Named Boy, The Brothers Grimm' School of Fairytale Narration.

In the fall of 2002, she wrote a Stafford adaptation of Rip Van Winkle for DPC’s performances for the Stafford Historical Society’s 100th Anniversary of the Stafford Memorial Hall Theater. The play was the first performed at the theater in 1902. Allyson’s script was adapted from the original with some new twists and turns, including depicting the 100-year history of Stafford and its people. She took to writing about her hometown again in 2004 with the moving drama, Holiday Spirit, that she wrote and starred in. She still continues providing the history of the town through many plays performed in different venues. In 2007, she wrote and was a tour guide for a 'Haunted History Tour' which told ghost tales and historical information about the town while walking through downtown. It was attended by over 150 people.

In 2003, she moved once again to film and wrote and starred in The Eternal Night: Veronica's Eye, Part One. An independent film produced by her husband, Tony. Ally took on the role of Veronica South Hampton, the financee of Abraham Van Helsing (protrayed by Andrew Wrobel, shown here), the infamous vampire hunter. Set in both a 18th century and modern world, Veronica and Abraham first encounter the dreaded Akurhura, or Vampire.

Ally enjoys spending time with her family, her composer/musician husband, Tony and their daughter, Christina, and friends. She also loves listening to music (her husband's and others), watching romantic movies and reading medieval romance and fantasy novels. She loves comic books: Superman, The Flash, Captain America and Fables are among her favorites.

Attending college for only a year she majored in English, minoring in Theater. Although education, history and research is her passion, she left college to continue to pursue her dream of a new kind of community theater group. Her work life included the Coachlight Dinner Theater as first a reservationsit and then Box Office Manager. When the theater shut down she went onto a very different career in business at the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for the next eight years.

Ally worked in Public Relations as Press Secretary to the Connecticut District Director. While at SBA, she wrote speeches and press releases for the District Director and organized many press events with politicians and administrators from Connecticut and Washington. Longing to stay in her hometown state of Connecticut, she declined an offer to work at the SBA Headquarters in Washington to stay.

Her life in business writing wasn't over -- she has written several columns in Connecticut area newspapers and worked as a freelance writer for many years covering Connecticut events.

Her biggest passion is doing what she calls 'characters' with her fellow acting friends where worlds, people and story lines are all created through improvisations. Many of the worlds created become inspiration for her plays and novels, including her new CrossRoads Series of novels and short stories.

CrossRoads is a series of story of two star-crossed lovers set in different time periods and settings. The characters remain the same, but the things around them change. Click HERE to get a preview of CrossRoads,
