When I was a little girl, I have the memory of sitting in this overstuffed green chair in my basement listening to "I Wanna Be Free" over and over again. I must of been about 5 years old at the time but I cried hearing Davy singing that beautiful song. To this day it's my favorite by him. In 1986, I saw the Monkees at the Wisconsin State Fair. It was a true dream for me. They blew me away. A few years later, I had the opportunity to see Davy live on stage reenacting the episode of the "Brady Bunch" episode he appeared in. Hearing him sing "Girl" live and in person was very special. I hope I get the honor of seeing Davy perform again. He's a true talent and a shining star in the world.

I went to the Monkees concert here in Chicago. It was my life long dream. I had bought a teddy bear for Davy, I've loved him forever, my legs felt like jelly as I got up to walk to the stage. Peter and Davy were singing, as I got closer, Davy looked down at me. he looked into my eyes, and I stoped dead in my tracks. I couldn't move! My heart was beating so fast, and for a second I couldn't breath. God, he looked so magical. Then he gave me a wierd look. It broke the spell, and I was able to move again. I wonder if he remembers it? Probably not, but I'll never forget it. I got to the stage and stood there for a sec, he gave me a signal to hold on,, I got afraid, and threw the bear and went back to my seat. I wish now I would have stayed there. I'd give anything to be able to talk to him,, and to give him a hug and a kiss and say thank u davy for all you've done for me!

**Note from your webmaster: I'd like to wish Shelly Guererro a speedy recovery! My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

I don't remember the town or year, if I'm not mistaken it was in 1986, anyways a bunch of us around 10-15 of us were following the guys(Monkees)on their tour and we were always getting to the hotels right behind the guys and they sometimes thought we were with the group and we would get rooms on the same floor as the guys. Well we were walking around the hotel and the pool area was below the floor where we were walking, so we stopped and looked in, guess who was swimming...Davy and Jessie! Well they started getting out of the pool we did not want Davy to see us watching him swim, so we ran for the elevators. I was right in front of the doors, the doors open..... and who do you think was standing there in a towel! I froze.....why I will never know, but one of the girls behind me pushed me in and said "he's going to freeze if you don't get on!". I know I had to be bright red, but tried to play it off by talking to Jessie. She smiled and so did Davy, but I'm sure Davy thought I was really dumb. But Davy has always been really great to all of his fans and I go everywhere I can and I always wonder if he remembers me as that dumb girl standing there watching him freeze....hope not......but he does know me as MONKEE, it's on my license plate on my car....my other car says MONKEES.

I have been a very big Monkees fan for a very long time - but my Favorite was always Davy Jones. I had the priviledge of meeting Davy Jones At the Vermont State Fair last September. It was a very bad time in my life, because I was going through a very bitter divorce and custody battle. Seeing his show and getting to meet him, along with getting his autograph and also he being so kind and taking 2 pictures with me - when they specifically said that Davy could not pose for pictures - but he did it anyway. I found him to be very nice and it made me really happy and forget my problems for a little while!! I will never forget that day as long as I live!! I also went to 5 more concerts - and each concert I went up to the stage and gave him flowers and even though he was performing a song - he was nice enough to say thank you each time. I really think he is great and I will be a fan for always!!! Again I wish I could thank him in person for what he did for me when I met him. He really made me feel happy when I was having such a difficult time in my life!! Maybe one day I will!! Thank you for letting me tell my story!!

I was playing the Monkees on my stereo, when I remembered I had this old fan magazine my mom had bought for me somewhere that I hadn't looked at yet. I got it out (under all the dust) and read the cover. It had a picture of all the Monkees except for Davy and said, "Where's Davy? look on page 68". I (of course) went directly to page 68 and what to my surprise did I find, but an autographed pin-up of him. I knew it was a real autograph because it was written in blue pen and you could tell by the imprints it left. I guess that person who sold it made a big mistake by not checking it out. How cool.

Wow! Where does one begin to write about the most wonderful man in the world? (Except for my hubby that is) well, we all know those feelings that only Davy Jones can evoke! The feelings that put us back somewhere in time when all we had was a fan magazine and an album cover and of course the show. Seeing him in real life was just an overwhelmingly wonderful experience. The best show for me was the first time I ever saw him back in 2000 in Gulfport, MS. I was able to attend the show with my best friend and my daughter then 16. I was amazed at the way Davy has maintained his good looks and his show was just unbelievable! I am also thrilled to tell you that my daughter enjoyed him as much if not more than I did. She knows all the songs and fell in love with him even though he could be her ****? Davy is well preserved and very funny, he is the consumate performer. He can move an audience to tears with his humor and keep you rapt for hours on end with his singing, dancing and of course tamborine playing! All I can say is Davy we love ya! Sure hope you will come to the Gulf Coast again real soon!
