It is a time of expansion. The Long Range Colonization program proceeds apace, as the New Macross colony fleets begin to launch from Earth, replacing the Megaroad design. Several Megaroads have already founded colonies by this point, the most notable of which is Varuta, founded by the Megaroad-13 colony.
It is a time of relative peace. The UN Spacy's Galaxy Patrols travel the depths of space, fighting Anti-UN forces and the remaining Zentradi fleets whenever they meet. Their VF-11 Thunderbolts are the most advanced fighters in space, joining and slowly replacing it's older siblings, among which, the VF-4 Lightning, the VF-14 Vampire, and the VF-9 Cutlass are still used in large numbers. On the colony worlds, inexpensive Variable Fighters are being designed and produced for defense against the Zentraedi, and perhaps, the New Unity Government as well.
The Fourth Galaxy Patrol has recently concluded her part in the UN Spacy Modernization program, replacing her aging ships with new, impressive vessels. Four brand new Uraga-class carriers form the core of the fleet, carrying hundreds of the Valkyries so vital to the survival of humanity. They are directly defended by four of the mighty Normandy heavy cruisers, and an impressive dozen of the new Soyukaze class destroyers. Supporting the fleet are six Guant�namo -class stealth carriers, and eighteen Stargazer frigates for recon and fire support. The flagship, CV-147 UNS Lexington has just been assigned to the fleet, which hasn't seem any action for some time. Also recently assigned to the fleet is one 1st Lieutenant Komilia Jenius, transfered from the Earth Defense Fleet. Intel reports quiet in the galaxy.
Of course, things never can stay that way for very long, can they?
