Spell Gone Wrong
Prologue
Disclaimer: I do NOT own Harry Potter. I am merely using J.K. Rowling's  characters for my own twisted amusement.
Warning: Slash, swearing, angst at  the beginning and fluff
Summary: A spell gone wrong causes some very  interesting consequences...

Snow fell from huge greyish clouds, dotting the window with silver spots.  Frost crusted near the corners, making a pattern on the panes that seemed to  have no real purpose but to be admired.
'It's strange how fascinating something so simple can be,' Harry mused.  'Something I know I'll see again. Something that hasn't been put there by a  spell. It's so natural, but still such a mystery.'
Harry was sitting on a chair in the Gryffindor common room, staring out the  window. This was a place where his friends would often find him. It seemed that,  in his fifth year, everyone was too busy even for the infamous Harry Potter.
Hermione was constantly recieving letters from Krum, via owl., Ron was always  daydreaming about a muggle girl he'd met during the summer. Neville was  dissapearing at odd times, usually reappearing an hour latter with a faint blush  covering his round cheeks. Hagird was dating Madame Maxime and was usually away  from his little hut. Sirius was staying a Lupin's as Dumbledor had instructed  him. Everyone else still seemed a bit wary of him. He'd lost much of his  popularity since the last article that Rita Skeeter had published in the Daily  Prophet. Despite all this, Draco Malfoy still found it amusing to make his life  a living hell.
People barely noticed the raven haired wizard as they went about their daily  routine. He had become a fixture, part of the background. He only did what was  expected of him. Eating, sleeping, homework and Quidditch. He was still the best  player in the Quidditch, though most of what he did was mechanic.
The Boy Who Lived couldn't really be considered alive anymore. Not since the  death of Cedric Diggory or the Dark Lords return.
Harry had spent half the summer expecting Voldemort to pop up out of nowhere  to kill him and the other half fending off nightmares. If his aunt and uncle  hadn't thought he was mad before, they most certaintly did now. He had woke them  on more than one occasion with his terrified screams.
Sighing, he stood and made his way to the boys rooms and lay down on his bed.  He pulled out the photo album that Hagrid had given him at the end of his first  year. He flopped out on his bed and pulled out the photograph album Hagrid had  given to him at the end of his first year.
Any time not spent by the window was spent here, losing himself in the old  photos.
People had noticed that there weren't as many mishaps. Everything was  rlatively calm, considering the trouble Ron, Hermione and Harry had gotten  themselves into in the last few years. There were no dragons or mysteries to be  solved. No lives to be saved. Just quiet and loneliness for Harry.
With another sigh he put the album away, sick of losing himself in someone  elses memories, even if they were his parents'. He burrowed himself under his  blankets, forcing his eyes closed far earlier than a normal boy his age would be  going to sleep. Sometimes sleep could be a respite. But sometimes it could bring  nightmares. Harry just hoped that tonight would not be the latter. To wake from  one more nightmare trembling would surely drive him over the edge.

Shade: My first attempt at an HP fic. I used what had happened in  the last book to help me with this. That's why Herminone is with Krum. I know  it's not the most popular pairing and it may be changed. If I don't get any  reviews I probably won't write another chapter. If no one likes it I'll just  return to writing Gundam. It will be a slash eventually. I don't write anything  else, really.
