Battle Test Report :- Heavy Cavalry, Honour/Arhcers/Guns

All battles are at normal level 1 unit vs 1 unit
Standard settings and defaults and Unit formations
EXCEPT HC were arrayed in 4 ranks - just like the monks
All battles are Head to Head - no flanking!

(all kills are agregate of 3 attempt each situation.)
(all losses are kills (heads taken) by AI)

Charging attack
Downhill 3/3 - kills 126 to 60 loss
Flat 3/3 - kills 103 to 73 loss
Uphill 2/3 - kills 129 to 112 loss

Walking attack
Downhill 3/3 - kills 147 to 89 loss
Flat 2/3 - kills 143 to 125 loss
Uphill 2/3 - kills 132 to 129 loss

Recieve Charge (stand)
Downhill (monk charge uphill) 3/3 - kills 152 to 98 loss
Flat 1/3 - kills 67 to 139 loss
Uphill (monk charge downhill) 0/3 - kills 146 to 169 loss

Conclusions:- Heavy Cavalry
ALWAYS CHARGE HC into target
ALWAYS move HC downhill to attack
NEVER stand HC and recieve charge
the recieve charge is a pain, because if you are engaged you automatically recieve the charge of any other unit opponent commits to attack your HC!
Observation:- Heavy Cavalry
Rain has no noticeable effect if all units are still 'fresh'
 
 

Guns and Honour (9 battles) - Musket Honour 0 vs AI Musket Honour 2
Hold Fire until AI Opens Fire
(all kills are agregate of 3 attempt each situation.)
(all losses are kills (heads taken) by AI)

Short Range 0/3 - 24 kill to 29 loss (sunny)
Long Range 0/3 - 8 kill to 87 loss (fog)
HtH 0/3 - 45 kill to 126 loss - (raining)

Conclusions and Observations:- Muskets
Honour affects accuracy at all ranges - worst at long range
Honour affects h2h drastically
Height has NO effect on musket range
Range affects shock value
- 0 Honour broke easily at short
- stayed put till 50% plus casualties at long
 
 

Archers and Honour (9 battles) - Archer Honour 0 vs AI Archer Honour 2
Hold Fire until AI Opens Fire
Only counting arrow kills this section
(all kills are agregate of 3 attempt each situation.)
(all losses are kills (heads taken) by AI)

Short Range (3) - 111 kills to 101 loss (sunny)
Medium Range (3) - 75 kills to 75 loss (rain)
Long Range (3) - 99 kills to 108 loss (fog)
H2H (9) - 13 kills to 17 loss
Friendly Fire kills - Me(H_0) - 1 --- AI(H_2) - 5

Conclusions and Observations :- Archers
Honour Affects H2H
Honour effects on kills at different ranges?
- too close to call - apparently none.
Honour has no effect on 'accidental' kills.
Height Does affect range - but minimal
(when AI 'above' me formation moved 4 ranks forward to return fire
- moved to immediately in front of first rank original position)
Loose Formation to recieve fire - AI did this several times = NO EFFECT!!!
- remember i had Honour 0 archers, and kills per side remained even!
NOTE:- Geometric Progression
- once an archer unit suffers 4 or 5 more casualties than opponent,
that unit is basically doomed. Making up the casualty deficit is next to impossible.
