Pop Idol judge Nicki Chapman is creative directior of 19, the company owned by Simon Fuller who managed the Spice Girls and managed Annie Lennox and S Club 7.  Incase you've been living on the moon, Pop Idol climaxes tonight with the live, nail biting final.  We disturbed Nicki by belling her while she was relaxing in Thailand recently. Doh!

Us - What time did you get up?
N - About 9.30.  At home it depends on how late i've been the night before.  If i've had to work late, I'll sleep in, unless I have an early appointment.  I love my sleep, and i'm lucky i'm in an industry where I can do that.  So I get between 9 and 10 hours a night. I can work off five for a few days but if I can get 10 its a great way to start.
Us - Who was the first person you spoke to?
N - My husband, Dave Shack who I call Shacky.  he's not with me, he's just come back from Japan with Natalie Imbruglia.  I'm in Thailand. We spend a lot of time apart, so if he's not in the country, or not in our bed, he will ring me.  But I rang him and woke him up this morning.  We've been together for nine years, married for two and a half.
Us - Where are you right now?
N - Sitting in a villa in the Amanpuri Hotel.  i'm on a working holiday with Simon Fuller.  It's all sliding doors and open plan.  Its 85 degrees, and i'm looking out on to a vast swimming pool, and through the palm trees I can see the sea.  I've got a huge bowl of white roses because it was my birthday. It's as close to paradise as i've ever been.
Us - What are you wearing?
N - A sort of two piece swimming costume, sort of aqua blue. It's got a tank top with bikini briefs and a matching sarong. La Perla. I splashed out! It's a great fit and very flattering. I've got my hair up and all my sun cream on. I'm very careful. I use Lancaster - in my hair as well. Clear polish on my toes, i'm barefoot most of the time here.
Us - When was the last time you were drunk?
N - Last night! We went to an amazing restaurant in Phuket town, called Ka Jok See.  Great food and they had live music.  I was drinking vodka and sprite and then had a couple of shots of orange liqueur at the end.  We were all singing and dancing by the end of the evening. It was a great, great night.
Us - What was your most recent journey?
N - Flying here.  I must be the luckiest girl ever. Simon does this every January, and i'm invited.  We plot the year.  Last year we were in the Philippines talking through Pop Idol.  It's not all work.  On my birthday, we were out all day on a boat.  When I came back, the pagoda was festooned with balloons and there was an enormous chocolate cake.
Us - Whats the most recent domestic thing you've done?
N - I tidied the house before I came here, a real chore.  And I went through all my clothes and gave three bags full to friends. Then I rearranged it all by colour. It's wonderful.
(If she's given away the black gypsy top I will cry! - Donna)
Us - Whats the last thing you put in your mouth?
N - An exotic piece of fruit - I've no idea what it's called - at the end of a sensational Thai lunch. And lemon grass tea, which i've really got into.  We have our own chef and a private sunken dining area.  The food is so healthy. Very light.  I love sweet things and they don't have very many, so for once i've been good on holiday.
Us - When did you last have a snog? (
Get your hankies ready guys, this is so sweet - Donna)
N - Two weeks ago, when Shacky left for Japan.  I was in bed and he kissed me goodbye while I was still asleep.  He's everything to me, my rock.  He's my best friend, my lover, my husband. We are so compatible, he gives me so much confidence in my ability. I think i've found a remarkable man.
Us - When did you last cry?
N - An hour ago we were discussing films and I started to well up at the thought of The Bridges of Madison Country. I am emotional and sentimental, but I don't cry about work issues, or if someone is horrible to me.  What would reduce me to tears would be an abandoned dog at the side of the road, or someone elses pain.
Us - What are you going to do when you hang up?
N - Go back to the pool, and then - this is so girlie - I'm going for a facial at a newly opened spa overlooking the bay.  It's our last night tonight, we've ordered an absolute feast here for eight of us.  I get home to Shacky at 6am. I'll be able to kiss him hello in bed. The best bit.

Interview by Nina Myscow - who surprise surprise I haven't asked the permission of before sticking this on my site. Still she's a nice lady (I used to love her on New Faces!) so , I bet she won't mind!

Now, being the lovely little webmistress that I am i've been doing a bit of research and tada! below are some pictures of the lovely hotel Nicki stayed in on her 'working' holiday (God I need a job like that!) - wasn't that nice of me!!
