JOB OTHER THAN BEING A SOLDIER, AND A PERFORMER: High School Math tutor and mentor. Unfortunately, there's a lot of stupid people in the world also, so tomorrow will more than likely not be any better than today."
CURRENT SITUATION: Crap!!! I got deployed, I'm in Iraq and I've been stuck here for 6 months and counting. I've been away from home for over 8 months. After 5 years in the military it happened. Well I guess it isn't all that bad. It use to be real tough, but after a few bumps and bruises, it gets easier. The first few days I lived in Iraq, I was sleeping on the floor, begging for any food I could get. Then I got moved into a Warehouse type setting. Although it was better than
our first living arrangement, the beds were way too close together. I'd say they stuffed about 5,000 soldiers in this warehouse that was about the size of half a football field. At Camp New York, the sand storms were awful, when you go to bed, you're guaranteed to wake up with sand in your eyes. Well, time flies by and now I'm here in Iraq and I shouldn't say which base or they'll kill me. The weather is always dreadfully hot, the food was never to die for, the work it never ends, and the drama, it's only just started burning. So this is it about Iraq, I don't really have the drive to get too detailed about it. Not now at least, I have a convoy tomorrow you know.
WHAT HE MISSES MOST ABOUT HOME: Good ice cream, rain, the beach, driving in a car, going to a restaurant, using a real toilet that flushes, Friends and Family....especially you James!
HIS PLANS WHEN HE GETS BACK: Unfortunately, I'm going to
have to start off by finding a new place to live, maybe even a new roommate to help the cost. Along with that I'm going to take my little brother out for some chinese food and then buy a remote control plane,
hopefully we won't crash it the first day. I want to see all my friends and catch up on whatever I missed. I'll then take a vacation, I've been dying to go to New York and surf the east coast. When I get done with this, I want to go back to school. Relive my simple life and just enjoy.

ADVICE: Never give up! Always keep the faith. You can get through anything if you keep believing. Never take any moment for granted. I lost more than a moment and I can't imagine how it could be any worse than being here. Everything is precious, don't forget that.
