Crarina is the country that King Eric I* rules, and Linda become queen when she married him in 1047. It lies on the same landmass as the Boncorian Empire, south of the Empire, and is famous for its warm climate, resident love of the arts and sciences, and cotton production, although there are no cotton gins yet, and there won't be for at least two hundred more years.
*There were eight or nine King Erics in Crarina's history. Religion The Crarinian religion is loosely based on Catholicism, although they certainly have many differences, such as the fact that they believe in eleven gods and goddesses, and their names are written down somewhere but I haven't bothered to get them on the computer. Everyone in Crarina that remains for longer than a few months is required to go to morning prayers for thirty minutes(ten to four prayers, usually) at some time between five o'clock and ten, and evening prayers for two hours at least once a week. Those who wish to join the faith must go through an initiation ceremony which involves baptism to wash away the sin of not being in the religion, and a similar ceremony is used to purify someone from sin once they are already in the religion. Once someone is fully immersed in the Crarinian faith, they are expected to attend morning prayers for at least an hour, and evening prayers for at least two hours every night, as well as go on multiple pilgrimages, conform to the rules and regulations, and try to get at least one stranger to convert to the true Faith. |
