Alhambra City Council to take up a resolution regarding the supermarket workers's strike Next Monday, 11/10/03, the Alhambra City Council to take up a resolution regarding the supermarket workers's strike. The resolution is being proposed by Alhambra City Councilperson Efran Moreno. We need as many people as possible to show up in support of this resolution. 2. Meeting for Cal State LA professors to get to know supermarket workers. Thursday, 11/06/03, 3 p.m.-4 p.m. at Baker's Square in Alhambra (810 Valley Blvd at Almansor St.) 3. Picketing at distribution centers: Teamsters are set to strike distribution centers this week. A court injunction might limit the effectiveness of a Teamster picket line. Only the general public, acting as individuals, will be able to prevent trucks from leaving and entering the distribution center. We will need to organize community picket lines at these distribution centers. |
