We met as members of the Illinois Army National Guards.  Our unit was then named the 33D Infantry Brigade.  [We are now the Headquarters Company of the 33D Area Support Group] We were both single parents and somehow became close PLATONIC FRIENDS.  He�d tell me about his various dramas with his romantic conquests and I�d sob on his shoulders about how my �Mr. Right� had done me wrong.

One evening, as yet another heartbreaker had hit home, Carl confessed his love for me.
Initially, I was shocked.  Yes, he was a single, sexy guy, but I�d never thought of him along those lines.  He too had recently suffered the pains of a shattered relationship and I�ll never forget when he said � �I want to be the one that makes you happy from now on.�

Let me tell you � his plight was not a pleasant one.  I did not go off into lovers� lane quietly: I literally went kicking & screaming all along the way!  Luckily for me - he weathered the storms and our love persevered a boat-load of ups & downs.   I one day woke up and realized that I had everything I needed and wanted in him.  
And now we�re getting MARRIED!
