Kingman Army Air Field
&
WAA Storage Depot 41
Welcome to the new look of a historical place in Northwest Arizona. Kingman Army Air Field & WAA Storage Depot 41 were a small part of World War 2 history. The roots of this airfield came from the people of Kingman and Mohave County. They wanted to help the government in Washington, D. C., so they informed them that they had room for a large military facility, i.e. like an airfield. So an airfield was built for the war effort.

KAAF was there for the war and Storage Depot 41 there for end of the war. Mohave County got an airfield when the Federal Government was done using it. So it became the Mohave County Airport, then later named Kingman Airport. Nowadays it is known as Kingman Airport & Industrial Park.

Kingman already has a rich aviation history. Kingman had a early airstrip which led to having Transcontinental Air Transport and Western Air Express established their own airfields in the Kingman area. The TAT built Port Kingman and WAE created the Berry Field. The Berry Field had a very short life and Port Kingman lasted until Mohave County Airport became operational. So you can see that aviation is very important to Kingman and Mohave County.  (c) ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
