| To Be Desired Chapter 10 I moved my head to the side and opened my eyes. Wake up, Luv I heard Paul say gently. I looked up to see him hovering over me. Mmmm I said. He smiled Get up, you. We are going to be late He said. I sat up and my hair fell into my eyes. I pushed it away. Where are we going? I asked awake now. He smiled wider. Youll see He said sitting down on the bed. What should I wear? I asked trying to get out of the mountain of soft covers. I stood up in front of him. Jeans, a t-shirt, and boots He said. boots? I asked skeptically. He nodded. Like designer boots? I asked. He shook his head. Old boots He said. Nice jeans? I asked. He shook his head. Old jeans He said. I was starting to see a pattern here. Lemme guess, Old Shirt? I asked. He nodded. OK I said a bit weary. I went through my suitcase. These? I asked pulling out my old boot cut jeans. He nodded. OK. I pulled out my black shirt. He nodded. I searched in my suitcase then pulled out my riding boots. He grinned and nodded again. I shook my head. Do I need to wash my hair I said touching it, it was curly now. He shook his head. It looks nice curly He said. I looked at him Riiiight I drawled sarcastically. He nodded. He sat there. OK, Im going to get dressed now I said. He nodded. Which means youre going to leave now I added seeing as he didnt move. He shook his head jokingly. I grabbed his arm and pulled him up. I pushed him out the door. I saw everyone else at the table. Hey guys I said as Paul stumbled out of the room. I shut the door. I put on my ensemble and pulled up my big gay socks. I pulled my boots up and put my jeans legs over them. I put my hair up in a ponytail and put on some lip-gloss. I walked out of the room. OK I said. Now, tell me where we are going I said as I sat down on the couch next to Paul. He shook his head and grabbed my arm. Lets go He said. He looked down at his arm and stopped. wait He said. Ill be right back He said as he ran into his room. I sighed and walked over to the table where everyone else was sitting eating breakfast. Where is he taking me? I asked. I knew they werent going to tell me. John shook his head. Cant tell you He said smiling. OK I said. Ooo Ringo said when he saw my boots. Cowgirl He said. I laughed. Thats me I said. I know how to do the Line dance I said. I stood in the middle of the room and grabbed my imaginary belt buckle. I took a step over then crossed my legs and took another step. I took a step the other way, crossed my legs and took another step. I leaned back, tapped my heel on the ground, leaned forward, tapped my toe on the ground, leaned back again and did the little hop thing. Paul burst out laughing behind me. I turned around laughing. Are you making fun of me? I asked. He stopped. Oh, No, never He said quickly. Youll hafto teach me that sometime Ringo said. Oh, Yes I said. Paul grabbed my arm again. Cmon He said as he pulled me to the door. Bye guys! I said before Paul shut the door. Brian know youre doing this? I asked as we walked to the elevators. He nodded as we stepped into one. He set it up He said. Set what up? I asked. He shook his head and smiled. I sighed. He grabbed my hand as the elevator descended. I smiled. I wanted to do a happy dance right there. I leaned into him and stared at the little dial thing going down the numbers. It reached one and dinged loudly we walked towards the back entrance, as we always did, and opened the door. There was a very nice car there. Ooo I said. Snazzy I added as I walked up to it. I heard a click and saw a flash. We both looked up suddenly. There was a reporter Standing at the end of the alleyish thing. I gasped, Paul dropped my hand and took a step back. Fuck, Brians going to kill me He said quietly. The reporter came closer. Hello, Im Ray from The Daily News He said introducing himself. Paul nodded politely and shook his hand. Paul McCartney He said a bit quieter. And whos this? The reporter asked looking at me and smiling. I looked quickly to Paul. Im Sarah I said shaking his hand. We must be going now I said pushing Paul towards the drivers side. Terribly Sorry I said as I opened my door. Bye now! I said as I sat down and shut the door. Paul pushed on the gas and we left before the guy could ask anything more dangerous. Brians going to kill me He repeated. Im sorry I said looking at my knees. If I cause any more trouble I think I could be in the Guinness Book of World Records. I added. Naw, Its not your fault He said. If he gets mad, Just argue with him He said. I laughed. I love it! I said. He laughed. OK He started. Hungry? He asked. I shook my head I wasnt really a breakfast person. Are you? I asked. He shook his head. Great now we can go straight there He said going faster as we hit the motorway. Straight where? I asked. To the Farm He said smiling. What farm? I asked. OK He laughed. Brian set up for you and me to go horseback riding on this one families farm He started. Its pretty secluded I guess, He said they have good horses and beautiful trails though. He said. I noticed his attire. Jeans a dark blue T-shirt and boots. I smiled. Youre taking me horseback riding? I asked. He smiled. Yup He said. You Like? He asked looking at me quickly before focusing back on the road. Yes I said excitedly. Cant wait I added. Im not very good you know He said. I know I replied. Youre going to hafto help me He added. Of course I replied. He smiled OK then He said as he pushed the pedal down more. Arent we going a bit fast? I asked. He nodded. Yeah He said smiling. OK I said leaning back in the seat. I turned on the radio and tried to find a station with the crappy dial tuners. I tuned into some rock station and Girl was on. I laughed. I turned the volume way up. Paul turned it down. What? I asked jokingly. Dont like that song?. He smiled Eck, No I hate the Beatles He said in a rocky raccoon southern accent. I smiled. Really? I asked going along with the charade. Yup, Especially that John Lennon, Who does he think he is, Talking about Jesus that way He said his accent waning in the middle. I laughed. Oh, I love the Beatles I said. Theyre gear, Especially that Paul fella I said breaking into a smile. Damn sexy, he is I said. Paul looked at me. I giggled. Eyes on the road I said turning his head. He smiled. You really think Im sexy? He asked. I laughed. Oh, yeah I said. Really? He asked. Yeah I said. He smiled broadly. Thanks he said. I laughed. Anytime I quoted. He smiled larger. He pulled onto a dirt road and kept driving. This thing seemed to never end. He finally stopped in front of this really nice looking barn. He parked the car. Come on he said. I got out and shut the door. It was very dusty. I breathed some in and started coughing. I got the dust out of my throat and followed Paul. There were no cars around. Is anyone here? I asked looking around. Nope, just us. He said. I walked beside him towards the barn. He opened the lock with a key and rolled the door back. A horse whinnied from inside. I smiled. Horses! We walked in and he flipped the lights on. Two rows of gorgeous horses appeared. Theyre beautiful. I said looking at them all. They are He said following my gaze. I walked up to the closest one and held out my flat hand. He sniffed it and blew back on my hand. I smiled and scratched his cheek. He leaned into my hand. I patted his cheek and walked back to Paul. Can we ride whichever we want? I asked. He nodded and smiled. Yeah. I smiled. then what are we waiting for? I asked. Nothing He said. OK I said. Come on I said. as I found a door that said Tack Room on it. I opened the door. Wow I said looking around the room. There were nice clean saddles everywhere, bridles, buckets, lead ropes, halters. Very Snazzy I said. I Pulled down two halters and handed one to Paul. I took the matching lead ropes and walked back to the aisle. I saw the one I wanted immediately. He was lovely. He was Bay (brown body, black mane and tail) with black points and goldfish highlights in his mane. He was about 16.3 hh and had the most beautiful face. I squealed. Oh My god I breathed. Isnt he perfect? I asked as I walked up to him. Hes beautiful Paul said. I nodded as I held out my flat hand. He sniffed it and tickled my palm with his whiskers. I giggled. Stop it, youre tickling me I said softly as I pet his muzzle. I pat his neck and leaned against the stall door. Which horse do you want? I asked Paul looking back at him. He was behind me petting a gorgeous black horse. This one He said. Know how to put a halter on? I asked. He shook his head. Not really. He said looking back at me. OK, watch me I said. I opened the door and walking into the soft bedded floor. I slipped the halter over his head and buckled it on the near side. I grabbed the lead rope. Got it? I asked looking at Paul watching me closely. I think so He said stepping back to the stall. OK tell me if you need help I said as I clucked to the horse and we walked down the aisle. I put him in the crossties. Paul followed suit. I went back into the tack room and found the grooming buckets. I got two and went out to Paul. I gave him one. OK watch me I said again. I showed him how to brush his horse. His horse threw up his head and pranced in place. Paul put a hand on his neck. Shhh, Its all right He said softly. His horse snorted and brought its head down. I smiled. He was talking to his horse while he brushed him. I went back to the aisle after I finished and looked at the nameplates on the empty stalls. Mines name was Rampage and Pauls was Prancer. I went back in the tack room and grabbed the two saddles with their names above them. I carried them out one on each hip. Paul came up when I walked out. He grabbed one and set it on the bar, I set down the other one and we went back for the saddle pads. I put them on my horse, as did Paul, then slid the saddle on. I tightened the girth and went back for the bridles. When we got the bridles on we walked them down a trail to this really beautiful almost park-like place. I swung up into the saddle and told Paul to do the same. We rode down the trail side by side. It was so pretty here. We just rode and listened to the birds chirping. Lets Canter I said. OK He said. I pushed Rampage into a trot and posted to the beat. When I felt him warm up I kicked him into a canter and rocked with him. Paul and me were still side by side. Faster I shouted over their hoof beats. Paul and me simultaneously kicked them into a gallop. We flew down the trail until we hit an open space. I leaned farther up his neck and kicked him again. I ran straight for the old fence at the end of the field. I pulled him into a more measured stride and pushed him towards the fence. Right when we came up to it I saw Paul pull his horse back. Prancer Threw his head up and whinnied in protest. I was a bit scared jumping this horse I knew nothing about but I was willing to take that risk. I leaned farther up his neck and held on. I felt him leave the ground and we flew for a couple of seconds. He hit the ground smoothly and cantered off. I pulled him down to a trot and finally a walk. I stopped him completely as I felt his sides heaving against my legs. He snorted and pranced to the side ready to do it again. I patted his neck. Good Boy I said. He whinnied. I laughed and cantered him back towards the fence. I dont think there was any way back besides that. I jumped him back over and landed letting him run towards the trail again before I slowed him back down. Paul caught up with me. That was awesome He said pulling up next to us. Thanks I said out of breath. Lets go rest over there Paul said pointing to a little place with shady trees. OK I said smiling. We walked them over there. We both dismounted and tied them to the tree. They started eating the grass. Paul sat down under the tree and pulled me down with him. He laced his fingers in mine. I leaned into him. Hi I said. Hey He said. You having fun? He asked. I nodded. Oh, yeah! Rampage is great! I said. Thanks for taking me I added looking at him. His face was inches away from mine. Your welcome He whispered before he pressed his lips against mine. I kissed him back. He pulled his head back. Sarah, he breathed. Mmm? I asked. He looked down at his wrist. Do you want to be my girlfriend? He asked looking back up at me. I was shocked. Paul McCartneys girlfriend. Me. I made a noise like are you kidding?. Yes I said. He smiled. Gear He said fidgeting with something on his wrist. Here he said handing me something. I looked at it. An I.D. bracelet, his I.D. bracelet. I looked at it confused. Oh, um its like to symbolize you and I. He explained. Like a ring...except its a bracelet he said. He turned over the side that said Paul and it said Sarah. I gasped. When did you do that? I asked. Nell had it done last night He said smiling. I looked at him slyly. How did you know I would say yes? I asked. He smiled. Fate he said. I shook my head. Right I said. I just knew He said. I smiled. I slipped my arms around his neck as we kissed.
