| To Be Desired Chapter 1 The best things happen when you least expect them 8:02...Wait! 8:02!!! The Ed Sullivan Show has already started! I'd been so caught up in doing my homework, well, ok I was really staring at Paul on my Beatles poster above my bed but thats beside the point! I'm missing the Ed Sullivan Show! I jumped from my desk and flung the door open as I ran down the stairs and jumped the last four steps and slid across the hardwood floor (Thank God for slippery socks) I punched a button on the TV hoping it was the right one and launched myself at the couch as I heard "...the Beatles" and saw them run on stage while I caught my breath. My Apartment-mate/Best Friend, Laura walked into the living room while my eyes were glued to the TV. "Sarah, What -" "Laura! Shhh!" I managed to blurt out as I watched Paul walk up to the microphone. (God, he was so damn sexy!!!) "Close your eyes and I'll kiss you tomorrow I'll miss you remember I'll always be true..." She just rolled her eyes and left muttering something but I was too caught up in the show to hear nor did I really care, everyone thought I was weird I just got used to it because this Isn't 1964... This is (dum dum dummmm) 2002. And, yes, I love The Beatles. Sometimes it hurt, wishing so bad, wanting so bad. No one else I know seemed to like them, but I don't mind...too much. I have their CD's, Posters, Books, and Ed Sullivan Re-runs... what more could u want? Actually, I wanted to Meet the Beatles (no pun intended). I wanted to see them...I wanted to see John and George before they... yeah. I wanted to see them in the sixties. I wanted to hear the deafening screams from the fans and watch them throw jellybeans on the stage. I wanted them to shake their heads and sing "She Loves You". I wanted their autographs... I wanted something! But mostly I wanted to be living in the sixties. Whose Idea was it anyway to have me living in this generation? I dont know but it wasn't mine. " ...I want to hold you hand" It was over, already. I pulled myself off the couch and turned off the TV. Now I had to go finish my math homework... FUN! I trudged back up the stairs to my awaiting Textbooks. My Homework was a lost cause; I just couldnt concentrate so I got up to clean my room (I know. Im just that kind of person). I turned on the CD player and put Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band on. Singing along with Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds I started straightening all my stuff out. Rearranging my shelves (with many a Beatle stuff on it). After I was finished I turned off the CD player and started in on my homework again, I mean I needed to keep my grades up. Me and Laura are both going to the same High School, were seniors, I started school a year later so Im already 19, Laura has just turned 18, Only one week left until we graduate. I snuggled up in bed against the cold air around my protecting comforter and thought about the Beatles for the Millionth time before drifting off. The next week breezed by and soon School was over and it was summer...endless summer. What was I to do now? I wanted to go to college but I might wait a year or so. I do really want to go to England so perhaps Ill save up and go. I still work at the equine veterinary hospital as a receptionist. I wanted to be an equine veterinarian so bad. I love Horses they are my favorite animals...besides Beatles of course. The months that followed were uneventful. I was starting to miss school. I was having fun though going to the stable more often and taking more lessons than I did during school and working more hours taking care of the horses. In August I had to ask for three weeks vacation. I had to go visit my Aunt in Minnesota. She wasnt feeling well and my mom was making me go. How fun! Stuck for three weeks in Hick-Ville. I packed enough shirts, pants, and shorts for three weeks and then all the essentials. Like Beatles CDs and Books. I went to the airport and did the normal routine: check in bags, wait for flight, you know. They called my flight and I walked into the terminal with my purse. Suddenly the terminal filled with wind. A blinding flash of light caused me to throw my arms up to my face instinctively. About 5 minutes later the wind stopped and everything was silent. I brought my arms down to my sides and looked at my surroundings. I was in a Hotel room. Chapter 2 Home This is copyrighted Sarah Lucey 2002 and can not be reproduced in any way without permission.
