Metaphor – Referring to Mrs. Plummer as a Judge.

B)      “…until a causal listener would have been led to believe she’d be better off put out to pasture.”



C)    “They think that because you’re on the City they can treat you like cattle.”

A)     “The boy caught her eye, and with his oversized head rolling on his shoulders he smiled his vacant smile.”



B)     “At times one of them would ask the boys if they’d lost their cherry yet ...”

While working at McDonald’s Wholesale, Ken and Billy would be questioned by the older men.
Metaphor-Referring to the boys virginity as a cherry.

Older men stating that Ken and Billy should find themselves a “Big Momma”

A)    “Let him go to hell!” Billy exclaimed with disgust. “A stool pigeon! Holy Jeez!”


Billy’s reaction when Ken told him that McDonald wanted him to keep an eye out for stealing employees.

Metaphor – Stool pigeon = person used as a decoy to entice criminals into a trap.
