St.Gabriels Secondary School NCC(AIR) unit converted from a headquarter Unit to a School Unit in 2000. Three years on,it is evident that our NCC(AIR) unit has taken very good advantage of its statues as a school unit. It has focused on providing its members with a vast range of activities and programmes, helping members to develop and realize their talent and abilities as individuals and as leaders. The efforts of the unit under LTA Tuang Fook Yong has also resulted in the unit winning the Chief of Air Force Trophy for the second time in three years. The trophy is awarded to the best NCC (AIR) unit in Singapore annually, This achievement is nithing less than outstanding.
The unit must continue with its good work and as one of its many challenges, provide its members with an enviroment where there will always be opportunities to pursue leadership training. It is important that our CCA groups nurture good student leaders, as it is the attainment of such a goal that will see a leveling up in the quality of student leadership that can only lead to greater things for the school.
As the unit is poised for a change in Commanding Officer, it has contributed to set its sight on maintaining its high standard and retaining the challenge trophy.This is indeed a worthy aspiration.
Today, as the unit celebrates it successes, I would like to extend my heartfelt congrulations for its success thus far , and to wish the uni continued success in the years to come. |
