Message From Commander Air

The NCC (AIR) Unit of St.Gabriels Secondary School bring me fond memories as it was the first NCC (AIR) Unit that I visited soon after my appointment as Commander NCC (AIR) in January 2000. I was impressed by the smart turn-out and bearing Senior Cadets and even more so by enthusiasm and confidence in handling the junior cadets.
My confidence in the St . Gabriels NCC (AIR) Unit was proven right when it went on to clinch the Chief of Air Force Challenge Trophy , twice within a short span of three years- during the very first year of its existence as a school unit in 2000 and again in 2002 . The Challenge Trophy is awarded annually to thr best NCC (AIR) Unit in the NCC Best Unit Competition.

The St. Gabriels NCC (AIR) Unit has the necessary ingredient for success. It has not only a core group of capable , dedicated and loyal Senior Cadets and Cadet Lieutenants to lead and inspire the younger cadets to strive foe excellence and uphold the good name of the Unit, but also has a devoted and caring Commanding Officer , LTA (NCC) Tuang Fook Yong, who has the full support of the School Principal.

The publication of the commemorative website is an effective way of preserving the history, achievements and tradition of St. Gabriels NCC (AIR) Unit. The website will also serve to inspire the present cohort of air cadet to continue with the good work of the Unit, pursue higher goals and bring even more glory for the school.

I am confident that given the right attitude and motivation , our air cadet of St. Gabriels will achieve what they set for themselves to attain. On this note, may I wish all of you continued success in your endeavours.

Finally, I would like to thank the Editorial Board for giving me to express my heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to LTA (NCC) Tuang Fook Yong and the air cadets, for all the cooperation and support that they have given me during my tenure as Commander NCC (AIR).
