Breast Cancer Awareness
Each year the members of Chi  Sigma actively participate in the Race for The Cure events organized by the Susan G Komen Foundation. SoRHOrs can usually be found in the race walking and running or at the various stations helping the race participants refresh themselves
Thanksgiving for Homeless

Thanksgiving is a time of joyful gathering and family get togethers. However not every family in Birmingham is able to afford food or even a place to live. In an effort to bring the spirit of Thanks Giving to these families, Chi Sigma will donate a few baskets of "goodiess" to needy families at Thanks Giving
Toy Drive for Children
With the hope of bringing Christmas to the heart of all children in the city, Chi Sigma participates every Christmas in the Fox 6TV toy drive collection. Members not only donate toys but can also be found at the various collection centers helping to sort and organize the toys for distribution
Dress for Success
Our organization was founded by seven teachers over 80 years ago, and our commitment to education is one of our founding principles. One way to honor that commitment is by helping women who are going back to school and/ or returning into the work force. Dress for Success is an organization that helps such women by providing them with the appropriate clothes to go on interviews. This fall Chi Sigma will become an active pariticpant by volunteering and donating clothes to Dress for Success
Operation Big Book Bag
Honoring our national service programs, each year Chi Sigma collects books and supplies for our local schools.
These schools are usually elementary schools in the Birmingham City School system. In addition to collecting school supplies, with the help of one of our very own members who is a spanish teacher at one of the local high schools, Chi Sigma has adopted a class and provides arts supplies, dictionnaries and other needed school materials throughout the year.
Story Time
Chi Sigma also believes in investing in the children of this community. Still upholding the principle of education, Chi Sigma does not believe in only supplying the classes with necessary teaching tools but also in giving our children the necessary tools to achieve. Story Time is a bilingual literacy program that will be started in Fall 2004. Through monthly story telling sessions, Chi Sigma hopes bring to children passion for reading and learning as well as respect, tolerance and curiosity of other cultures existing here in Birmingham
