"The Tale of The Knights Of The Silver Rose"Once upon a time in the realm known as the Sci-Fi Room (known to those of the order as the realm of the dark screen) at TV Chat {now http://www.ultimatetv.com/}, a chance meeting between a group of like minded people occurred. The group became great friends and held the common belief that courtesy should exist on-line along with the consideration of fellow chatters feelings. An air of open-mindedness should prevail; for only by approaching things with an open-mind can one become truly enlightened. They came from different regions, each carrying a different talent or element to the group. The earliest ones who would later be part of the order were called Lady Southern Grace, Lady Shy, Lord Deathtouch, Lady Misery, Lady Pixel and Lord Merlin. These six chatted on a regular basis, long before the order was even a gleam in any of their eyes or a passing thought in their minds. Later, other chatters entered their midst: Lord Pierce, Lord Maestro Limekiller, Lady Buttercup, Lady Blackrose, Lord Verdugo, and Lord Sam.
The name for the order came from a suggestion of the Maestro's dealing with Richard Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier. The Knights are from all over the U.S. and even England. When one asks whether we are a "real order" or a "bunch of role players" Lady Grace shivers...She being the Lady of Etiquette for the Order must answer carefully..."We are as real as any entity is on-line. We are real people who believe in being able to go into a room to chat with friends without being harrassed, abused, or offended by crude creatures. We do have a degree of tolerance and we understand that everyone has bad days. However, we will not condone any repeated action that we feel is uncalled for. Some of us hold that mighty power to banish one from our realm for unbecoming behavior; some do not...but there is always someone guarding our realm."
