| Cats of Distinguished Merit
This is the sixth installment in a series about those cats that have earned the title of DM. To earn this title, a female must have produced five cats who have either granded or themselves earned a DM. A male must have produced fifteen cats who have either granded or themselves earned a DM. The title Distinguished Merit was recognized in 1981, but can be gained retroactively via petition to CFA, identifying the qualifying offspring. by Karol Cummins GC. Diadem So Sweet, DM B/O: Janice Reichle The dispositions of our animals have always meant a great deal to us and sometimes their names reflect their personalities. GC Diadem So Sweet, DM has two names -- both very descriptive. We had always called her Luvbug because she was so affectionate but when it came time to register her, my youngest thought the name perhaps not dignified enough but when she heard I'd registered "Luvbug" as "So Sweet" she said that wasn't any better! Luvbug was born September 30, 1984, out of GC Diadem Personality Plus, DM and CH Hershie Hollie [of Wyngate]. She has her sire's glorious eye color and passed it on to her offspring as well as her lovely type and disposition. She has a son in Sweden who is also a grand champion and a DM in that country. Someone came to buy a pet kitten and brought a friend with her. The friend fell in love with Luvbug and begged for her. I thought it over for a few days and decided it was selfish to keep her where she was one of a dozen when she could live in a home with one other cat and be "spoiled rotten". She adjusted beautifully to her new home and was often found curled up, asleep, with a .Siamese!
