CHAWNESS' P R O '48
Meet my personal ride, a 1948 Ford F-1 pickup. This truck is the result of a project that has spanned over 15 years. I built this truck practically from the ground up, from the chassis work to the flames. It has a stock 1948 frame with mustangII front suspension, coil over shocks, and rack & pinion steering. A custom rear subframe was built to accommodate the 33x21.5x15 Mickey�s. It has a narrowed disc brake 9 inch rear with mini spool and 4.56 gear. Under the hood is a small block 406 Chevy sporting TRW forged pistons (10:1), a .488 lift cam @ 292, roller tip rockers and some head work. The engine sports a genuine 1966 roots 6-71 blower with a wieand intake, Big Al's top plate, 2 edelbrock 750's and a BDS scoop. Spark comes from a MSD 6-AL box and blaster 3 coil all feeding to a MSD pro billet distributor. A 350 turbo trans with a shift kit puts the power to the rear end. Inside it has a smoothed dash with some flames, a stock rolled bench seat, auto meter phantom gauges, B&M mega shifter, monster tach, 5 point harnesses and some other custom touches. My truck has 3 custom PPG colors with 4 coats of clear.
