GARAGE DAY! 11-16&17-2002

Ive decided repaint the frame of the truck and do some plating and bracing to strengthen the chassis in preperation for the blower.

My exhaust system that I removed in order to put some crossing bracing in the chassis. I may also get the headers HPC coated.

Underneath the truck looking back at the rear section.

Fryboy and myself removed the front clip to box in the frame rails and also make getting to the engine easier.

Heres the front clip with the hood in the background. The other hood will be painted to match the truck, after I cut a hole for the scoop!

Heres the blower setting on the engine...GRRRRRRR...looks MEAN!

Another angle...man I dont want to put the fenders back on!

Here's the frame before plating. You can see that I plated and braced some of it in the past. You can also see its been a while since I've painted the frame. That happens when a person has a hotrod as long as I've had mine.

Heres my cardboard templates I marked and cut out. I just traced the frame onto the cardboard with a pencil.

I used the templates and marked my 1/8" steel then cut out the shapes with the torch.

After I ground the slag off the peices, they fit pretty good so I tacked them in.

Heres the other side as well, just tacked though.

Okay Daddy, you've been out here since 5:30am, its time to come in!
