Preparation for the upcoming US Grand Prix came to an end on Thursday when the Jordan Honda team finished its three day test programme in dry but overcast conditions at Silverstone, during which it assessed fresh driver talent in Justin Wilson and Narain Karthikeyan.
Following Wilson's first outing in a Formula One car yesterday, in wet conditions, he had a successful morning, running for the first time on a dry track. The new F3000 Champion completed 47 laps with no mistakes and continued to familiarise himself with the car and worked through the team's test programme.
His quickest lap this morning was 1:26.157, although unfortunately the team identified a hydraulics problem, which meant he was unable to run any laps this afternoon.
Alesi had a productive and practically fault-free day, spent working on dry conditions set-up and aerodynamic comparisons. He completed 70 laps and posted a lap time of 1:24.786.
