19th June - Heinz-Harald to stay for 2002.
Speaking at the Thursday Press Conference, Heinz Harald Frentzen has said that he expects to stay with the Jordan team next season.

Unfortunately for you guys I'm not allowed to tell you details of the (existing) contract," he told the press ahead of Sunday's European Grand Prix.
But let's put it this way, I joined the Jordan team in 1999 and we had some good success and I think that I will continue with Jordan in the future."

Some recent reports in the press suggested Frentzen was set to leave after becoming disenchanted with Jordans reliability problems this year, following a dismal year in 2000. But whilst he said the team was not enjoying its best year, he was confident fortunes would soon swing.

"There have always been ups and downs at Jordan since I joined," he said. "We have been up there and down there but at the moment we are suffering with a down but I don't see why we shouldn't go up again.
"We started the season well, but then we had some difficulties with our launch control and afterwards some other reliability problems, which put us back a little bit and some other teams overtook us, but I'm pretty confident that we get our technical difficulties under control again and I'm pretty confident that we will get back on track."

The 34-year-old had been linked with a switch to Toyota, who will become the 12th team in Formula One next year, especially when he was supposed to extend his Jordan contract last Monday, but didnt show for the meeting. It now seems that he was just following doctors orders and resting following his crashes at Monaco and Canada.
