9th July - Jarno says Jordan don't do enough development work.

Following Heinz-Haralds comments that he was not happy with the balance of his EJ11 at the recent Monza test, Jarno Trulli has now stated that the team does not do nearly enough development work.

Speaking to the Italian newspaper, Gazzetta dello Sport, he has commented on his disappointment in Jordans inability to develop as quickly as the top teams. He said, "I will continue to attack in the races, but I did not expect to find myself at this point of the championship at this technical level. The secret of the top teams is to try new solutions and to develop in order to recover the gap. At Jordan we develop little and this penalizes us a lot.

He added in the article that he has not been approached by anyone with a 2002 drive yet, but he is definitely willing to listen. He commented, "I have not had any offers, but in formula1 anything is possible.

As with any F1 driver, Jarno would love to move to one of the top 3 teams and have a good shot at the championship but, apart from a possibility of Hakkinens seat at McLaren becoming available, there should be no prime vacancies at the end of 2001.

However, he has to be careful not to upset Eddie Jordan with his comments and complaints, it might be that another year or two with Jordan will be the best on offer to the Italian.
