Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Ricardo Zonta today began a four-day test in hot conditions at Monza for the Jordan-Honda team.
Frentzen was quickest with a lap time of 1m 24.672s and completed 72 laps, while Zonta finished 59 laps and was fourth fastest with 1m 25.164s.
Frentzen spent the day concentrating on a variety of brake materials and cooling options for the Italian Grand Prix in addition to work on general chassis set-up. Meanwhile, Zonta focused his efforts exclusively on aerodynamic mapping of various configurations measuring straight line speed for forthcoming high speed events, beginning with the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim at the end of this month.
The team was satisfied with a very productive and problem free start to the test.
