Following the decision by Eddie Jordan to jettison Heinz-Harald Frentzen, some media speculation suggested that the team�s German sponsors might start to walk.
The largest of these, and Jordan�s 2nd largest sponsor, Deutsche Post have stated that they are staying with the Irish team, as the identity of a driver does not affect their desire to build their brands globally. Deutsche Post also decorate the car with their DHL and Danzas trademarks.
"It does not affect the relationship at all, our strategic goal was to make Deutsche Post worldwide, this goal can be achieved today as it can be achieved yesterday, regardless of the driver,", the director of Deutsche Post's Press Office Dr Martin Dopychai has said. Nobody was very comfortable with the performance so far this year, the performance of Frentzen in particular.
"We learnt via press release that he wouldn't be driving for the team, we did not interfere and this was a management decision by Eddie Jordan. If he says right now that the team will improve by changing the driver then we are very confident for the future, we trust in him." No news yet on the other two major German sponsors, Infineon and Puma. |
