Fellow German and ex-Jordan driver, Ralf Schumacher, has come out in favour of Heinz-Harald continuing his F1 career and is in no doubt where he should go. "I am sure that we will see him in a Toyota. If they're smart they'll sign him because he is the best driver on the market," he said. "It's the best solution for all."
However, despite the rumours of many conversations earlier in the year the Japanese car giant, who will enter the sport in 2002, have not yet been in contact with the 1997 championship runner-up.
"We are not negotiating with Heinz-Harald Frentzen and we are also not interested in any of the current drivers," a Toyota spokesman said.
In a rather bizarre twist, Heinz-Harald's father has publically stated that he is in no doubt as to why his son has been out performed this year, he is sure that the Frentzen EJ11 has been satotaged. "It's not at all normal that the car continues to fail in the races and in the tests everything works wonderfully. Someone is pressing the buttons."
