Jarno Trulli and Ricardo Zonta completed the second day of testing in Monza with Jordan Honda team as part of a four- day test yesterday. Both cars completed all available engine mileage, resulting in a productive day's work with Trulli finishing 71 laps and posting the fourth quickest lap time of 1:25.134 and Zonta completing 65 laps with the eighth fastest time of 1:26.089.
Trulli spent the morning working on chassis set-up and focused on aerodynamic development and brake cooling components testing in the afternoon, and was extremely fortunate to escape unscathed when components being tested failed during the morning session. The EJ 11's new rear wing failed as he approached the Ascari chicane, but luckily he kept control of the car and made his way back to the pits.
Meanwhile Ricardo tested aerodynamic parts in the morning and then continued work on the extensive brake test program.
Rain fell from 4pm, so both drivers made use of the opportunity to carry out wet set- up development work.
Both drivers will continue testing today and Ricardo will complete the test on Friday
