Jarno Trulli was very lucky to escape a high speed testing scare unscathed this morning after his rear wing failed at over 160mph.
The Italian was testing his EJ11 when, on an early morning run, he braked for the Ascari chicane and his rear wing disintergrated.
Thankfully, Trulli did not make contact with any of the barriers of the Monza circuit. He managed to keep control of the car and make a slow return to the pitlane.
Michael Schumacher yesterday emerged unscathed from a similar smash. The German lost control of his car as he suddenly lost rear downforce, his Ferrari was destroyed as it hit the barriers.
The rear wing was a new component being tested for the upcoming fast circuits of Hockenheim and Monza. Jordan have not yet made any comment if they would continue to test the wing after modifications have been made, or whether they would revert to the older model.
