Ricardo Zonta commenced Jordan Honda's scheduled four-day testing program in very warm conditions at Monza yesterday.
Posting the day's fastest lap time of 1:25.12, the Brazilian driver made a productive start to the program as he worked through chassis set-up for the upcoming Italian Grand Prix during the morning, finishing the day off with tyre evaluation.
An engine oil system problem which required an engine change, Michael Schumachers big crash and numerous other red flags hindered the team's running time for a few hours this afternoon resulting in Zonta only completing a total of 41 laps. However, this was the flaw in what was otherwise a perfect first day for the team.
The only worrying sign was the Williams duo were not far behind Zonta but appeared to be running quite a bit more wing, which should set them up well for the stadium section at Hockenheim.
Jarno Trulli will join Zonta today and continue driving on Thursday.
