Heinz-Harald Frentzen finished the day, having completed 62 laps, with the 3rd fastest lap time of 1:14.16, with Jarno Trulli's time of 1:14.77 placing him in 5th, having run 68 laps.
Coulthard led the way in the 2001 McLaren followed by Wurz in a 2000 McLaren.

In hot and sunny conditions, the drivers concentrated on chassis set-up work which proved trouble-free, the priority being to learn the characteristics of the car as continual adjustments were made during the day.

Heinz and Jarno will be back on the Spanish track on Tuesday to continue with chassis set-up development work.
