After an enforced 3 week ban on testing, the mid week action starts again.
Tuesday saw Jean Alesi complete 39 laps in hot and sunny conditions at Mugello in Italy, on his first day of testing for the Jordan Honda team.
The Frenchman spent day one of the three day test working on general chassis set-up, launch control starts and further familiarising himself with the EJ11.
His track time was hindered however, due to a few minor problems with the engine and hydraulics and then intermittent showers between 4 and 6pm. He drove chassis EJ11/02 for 38 laps and EJ11/07 for 1 lap.
He also got some wet laps in after it rained at the very end of the session.
Alesi will be joined by team-mate, Jarno Trulli, for the remaining two days of the test in Mugello, whilst Andrew Gilbert-Scott will carry out launch control testing for the team at Silverstone on Wednesday.
Hopefully, Gilbert-Scott will get a chance to work on his day job as Takuma Sato's manager and discuss the possibility of Jordan signing the exciting Japanese driver in the near future.
