10th April - Jarno answers some questions as Imola approaches.

As one of the two Italian based Grand Prix approaches, one of the two Italian drivers in the field took time out to answer some questions put by Autosport.

Q: Are you happy with the performance of this years car so far?
JT: Its still a bit too early to talk, but I must say that the car is a good base to start from, so we can develop it through the season. We dont look to be so far from Ferrari, and sometimes we look like were competitive with McLaren, so it might be that during the season we might have some good results. It might be that this season we can have a highlight somewhere. For me last year it was Monaco and Spa, and this year I hope to do it again.

Q: Do you feel that its better than last year?
JT: Yes of course. For example in Malaysia last year we were off the pace, and this year we were much closer and much more competitive.

Q: Is the works Honda engine everything you expected it to be?
JT: Yes. Of course theres always something to do, but they understand that they have to keep working hard. Its important that we got the Honda deal, because now we have got a factory engine you can see people working very, very hard and going for it, because they only want to win.

Q: Are you enjoying the battle with BAR?
JT: Its very exciting, but its a very tough job for everybody. Its going to be very interesting to see this little battle between us.

Q: Do you think the tyre war will liven things up this year?
JT: Yes, weve already seen that Michelin is doing a very good job. We didnt expect that they would be quick so fast.

Q: You got your first points in Brazil, but it was an eventful race for you
JT: I had a problem with the car. About 15 laps before the pit stop I started struggling, first with the clutch, and then the rear end of the car. It was very oversteery, so I must have had some problem, because at the beginning I was running very well. I was on one stop, so the strategy was perfect, and I was quick enough. But then the lap times were not good any more, and I was struggling a lot with the clutch. When I came into the pits we had a problem with the fuel rig, and I lost one place. And I came in one lap before it was starting to rain! So I wasnt very lucky at this stage. I didnt have enough wing for the wet conditions, so the car was really oversteering, even more than before. It was very difficult to manage with the clutch problem under braking and shifting down.

Q: After all that, you must be relieved to have finished fifth?
JT: Yes, at least its two points after a very tough race. But if you look back at how competitive I was in the beginning, I must say its a shame that we always have these kind of problems.

Q: Do you think you can now start scoring regularly?
JT: Yes, but we just need a little bit more luck. In Brazil I was stopped by the problems, and it was not easy at all.

Q: Is the car going to be quick at Imola?
JT: I hope so!
