Left Roaring Fork Shelter about 9:00am. for
Deer Park Shelter about a 11 mile day. |
| Not much change in the
trail or type of hardwoods. Pines, hemlocks, rhododendron,
laurel began to appear. The valleys were green and lush
looking. The higher the mountain the less green, mostly winter
browns with few leaves sprouting. On Bluff Mt. there were huge
boulders covered with greens mosses and liver wort. |
| The weather change from sun
to rain! With my rain hat pulled down, I didn't see much of
the trail other than my feet. Clouds covered the valleys, so
no views. |
|
Arrived at Deer Park, very cold from the soaking rain.
My thumbs wouldn't work! Wrong Way Grace had to unbuckle my hooks on my
rain cover so I could get into my backpack to get my coat and some dry clothing.
I had hot chicken soup for supper and after that went to bed. I was
anxiously waiting the arrival of my husband and Simon the next day. (Friday) in
Hot Springs. |
