| Angel is a full blood Rottwieller, she was born Sept 17,1997 in Jacksboro, Tx (Fort Wort). She picked me out to be her mommy that Nov. On the ride home, she cuddled up in my neck shaking with fright yet trusting me completely. At that moment, we bonded closer than I ever have with a pet. She isn't a pet, she is a member of our family, my little girl. At 6mos she was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and recommended put to sleep. I refused and 7 years later she is still with me. Because of her hips, she has limited mobility and stays inside with me most of the time. She follows me from room to room, always at my side. When I was very sick in 2002, she was there by my side thru it all. She would cry with me when I'm sad or hurt. She tends to my boys when they are sick or upset. She LOUDLY chastises them when they start playing too rough in the house. She even comes to me and tattles on them when they get too rough. She can be VERY protective of her people and home and sounds viscious when someone comes to the door. She is very demanding when she wants to be petted. She doesn't realize her size and likes to sit in my lap (all 155lbs of her! OUCH!) She doesn't know she is a dog, she has never been treated as one. She even goes on vacation with us. I can't bear to leave her behind, it's like leaving a child behind. She has a forever place in my life and heart. |
