came to help these people, but haven�t we heard that story
before. I�m currently in a cell by myself; Sam was taken and
hasn�t returned yet. I�m starting to go crazy when they took her
I felt sick, all my pleading for them to take me did nothing to
change the guards minds. In the cell next to ours is Teal�c and
Jonas. Jonas was taken first and hasn�t woken yet. I can only
imagine what they have done to my Samantha.
All of a sudden the guards opened my cell door and Sam is
dumped in. I wait till the thugs walk away before I go to her,
she would kill me if I tipped our hand and gave the bastards
an edge. Easing her up I carry her to the back of the cell and
cover her with my jacket.
�O�Neill,� Teal�c spoke getting my attention.
�Yeah T?�
�Here,� he was offering his jacket thru the bars the separated us.
�Thanks,� I said as I accepted.
�Do not worry O�Neill, Major Carter is strong she will survive.�
�It�s � shit�it�s more complicated than that Teal�c.�
�How so?�
�I�m not sure but I have a feeling that she�s pregnant. I mean
she hasn�t told me anything but I see all the signs. I�m not even
sure if she�s seen them.�
�Would she not know if she were with child?�
�I don�t know Teal�c. She is so involved in her work and she�s
never been pregnant before she may not know what it�s like�
�I see.�
Silence fell between us as I sat with Sam in my arms and hoping
for all the world that if its true she�s going to have a baby that
who ever the creep that�s holding us hasn�t done anything to
harm either of them. A couple of hours pass and Jonas finale
came around.
�How yeah doing there Jonas?�
�Well my head hurts but that�s to be expected�
�What happened?
�It was Yu. I�m not really sure what he is looking for but I do know
that it has something to do with our DNA.�
�Get some rest; you�ll need your strength. Teal�c was able to
get a message off to the SGC before he was caught. Hopefully
Hammond will send a team.�
Teal�c kept looking for any weakness in the cell, anything that
would get us out of this hell. Several guards are posted outside
our cells. The light coming in from a couple of windows near the
ceiling is slowly growing dark. Our best bet is to stay but and
not try anything till light. I settle down in the corner next to Sam
and hope that when I wake I�ll see her stunning blue eyes looking
into mine and SG-3 breaking us out. I know I say the Marines are
Jar Heads and good for nothing but I wouldn�t want any other
team coming after us.
My prayers must have been heard because an explosion woke
me and the rest of my team.
�Ok kids this could be it.�
We listen and wait. Then it comes two captains from SG-3 come
running in.
�Colonel O�Neill is your team all right?�
�We�ll live. Now get us the hell out of here.�
�Yes sir. Stand Back.�
We do as they say; they placed micro charges of the doors,
man I love things that blow up. In seconds we are out the door.
�Carter are you ok?�
�Yeah I�m fine.� Something in her voice made me think otherwise.
I quietly ask, �Are you sure about that Sam?�
�Just get me home Jack.�
�Always.�
We let SG-3 do the hard work, we just keep up. As we made
our way to the gate I noticed that Jonas and Sam didn�t look
so good. I decide to slow up a bit. Unfortunately SG-3 doesn�t
think we need to slow up.
�Major Henson lets slow it up a little.�
�Sir I don�t know how many of those thugs are following us. I
really think we need to keep moving.�
�I understand that major but I�m saying that two of my people
where tortured and we are going to slow up a bit.�
�Yes sir.�
It took an extra hour to get to the gate once we slowed down.
Once we stepped thru General Hammond and Dr. Frasier both
pounced with a thousand questions. Finally the good ol�Doc
won the battle and drug us off to get checked out. Of course
Hammond has us coming in bright and early tomorrow for
debrief and if I wasn�t mistaken he said something about his
generosity in giving us a good night�s sleep.
Janet decided to let a nurse look Teal�c and I over so she could
take care of Sam and Jonas personally. I fidgeted threw my
entire exam. I could her Janet and Sam talking but I just
understand what they were saying. Finally the nursesaid I was
finished and could go. I emedetly went to sam�s bed. Janet was
currently checking Jonas over.
�So major how�s the weather?�
�Not so great right now sir�
�What�s wrong Sam?�
�Oh I�m not sure yet.�
�Sam I need to ask you something.�
�What is it Jack?�
�Are�well I don�t mean to be blunt but are,� I lowered my voice
as several nurses seem to have moved closer, �are you
pregnant?�
�What?�
�You heard me.�
�Yeah�
�Yeah, as in yeah I heard you or yeah yeah�
�The later, Janet�s going to check and see you know if�oh god
Jack.� She finally broke down into tears and it takes a lot to
break my Samantha. I took her into my arms and tried to sooth
her.
�Hey there�s nothing to worry about. Remember you have the
best doc on the planet.�
�But what if something happened? What if what they did�what
are we going to do Jack?�
�We are going to wait for Janet to come back and we are going
to think happy thoughts Dorothy.� My mixture of two movies
finally got her to smile and stop crying.
�Don�t start mixing movies Jack.�
�But it made you smile.�
�How�s Jonas?�
�I�m not sure. You want me to go check?�
�No Teal�c will be by with info. I want you to stay with me.�
�Why don�t you try and get some sleep.�
�No I ��
�That�s an order Major.�
�Promise to wake me when Janet comes back with the results?�
�Of course, now sleep you look like shit.�
�Yes sir.�
Teal�c came by with news of Jonas. He�d need to spend the
night but should be released sometime the next day. After
sitting with Sam long enough for me to change into a clean
uniform Teal�c left to kel�nor�reem. It was three more hours
before Janet came back with results.
