�That�s what I was expecting Janet don�t worry.� Sam tried to ease the burden off Janet.
�Would you like me to have Col. O�Neill come down?�
�No, he knew I wanted to do this myself.�
That night Col Jack O�Neill drove up the drive to see his wife�s car already in the garage. This only meant that she had gotten bad news from her doctor�s appointment. Entering the house threw the kitchen he called �Honey I�m home�
�Living room,� she called back.
�So?� he asked as he entered the room she was in.
�So it was just as I had predicted.�
�I�m sorry babe�
�Jack I have known about this for years. After Jolinar it became part of me, these changes in my body.�
�Sam I want to ask you something,� Jack finally broke the silence that had enveloped the room.
�Sure.� The seriousness in her husbands voice somewhat concerned her.
�What do you think about adopting?�
�I like the idea but not right away. I need sometime, are you ok with that?�
�Of course I am. I just knew that we had decided we both wanted kids and I wasn�t sure if you only wanted your own or if you were open to the idea of adopting.�
�You are so considerate. Thank you.� and with that she leaned over and gave her husband a passionate kiss. �Now how about something to eat, I can order from Lings?�
�That sounds great. I�m gonna grab a quick shower.�
The sound of two cell phones and the phone by the bed woke both Sam and Jack. �Ah for cryin� out loud. If that�s the base I swear...� he was cut short by his wife. �Just answer one of the damn phones.�
�O�Neill� he barked into the bedside phone.
�Yes Sir� I understand � we are on our way we should be there in thirty sir. Bye.�
�Sam get up we�re need.�
�Why?�
�Don�t know just something about the Tok�ra.�
�Ok.� and with that Sam rolled back over.
Deciding not to play this game Jack used his best command voice and said �Major on your feet!� The result was instant as she sat up like a raw cadet.
�God I hate you� Sam shouted to her husband as he departed the bedroom.
Once the pair arrived on base they found Dr. Daniel Jackson and Teal�c already sitting at the briefing room table with the Tok�ra representative to earth; Sam�s farther Jacob Carter and his two guards.
�So kids what�s up?� Jack asked.
�The Tok�ra have a mission they need our help on Jack,� answered Daniel.
�For cryin� out loud, can�t we take care of this in the morning?�
�I guess not�
Just then General Hammond entered. �At ease people, Colonel you and your team will accompany Jacob and the Tok�ra to PJ7-3C8.� Hammond ordered.
�And what does this little trip entail?�
�You will be briefed on your arrival and Jack I know how you hate this type of missions but trust me on this one.�
�Yes sir�
�You leave in three hours SG-1� and with that the general went back to his office as if it were three in the afternoon not three in the morning.
As SG-1 and the Tok�ra entered the gate room the tech began dialing. Jack did a quick check of the team. They had enough weaponry, food, and other supplies to last a while, and that worried Jack. �Chevron 3 locked� called the computer tech. just then Jack noticed Sam�s pack had an open pouch walking over to his major he belted it down and began to turn back toward when a quiet �thanks honey� came from Sam as she stood speaking with her farther. �That�s what I�m here for.� Jack replied smiling. Even in full combat gear Sam was the most amazing women Jack had ever met. It pained him knowing she would never know the joy of having her own child. Lost in thought he didn�t realize that the stargate was now active. �SG-1 you have a go,� General Hammond informed them.
As the group exited the gate they found themselves on a world apparently burning to the ground.
�Welcome to PJ7-3C8 other wise known as Gatie. What you�re seeing is the latest destructions by the Gould,� explained Jacob. �The Tok�ra suspect that the goddess Vesta is hiding on the planet. We are here to try and find her before another system lord does.�
The team set about helping the people, asking question, and searching. After a long day Samantha came back to camp last and with her was a little girl of about 3 years.
�And who do we have joining us this evening?� Jack never subtle about anything, but that was one of the things that Samantha loved most about him.
�This is Kayla. Honey why don�t you go ever there see that man he�s my dad he�d love to meat you.�
�Ok.� She had the sweetest voice of any child and Jack fell in love with her instantly.
�Jack she�s the one�

�Sam she must have parents around here somewhere we can�t just go around stealing children because we like them�
�No I was trying to RESUSATATE her mother but she was burned to badly for me to do anything. Before Shyla, Kayla�s mother, went into arrest she told me her husband had died two days ago in the first attack. Kayla�s got no one Jack and I want to be there for her. What do you think about it?�
�When she spoke I fell. Look at her with Jacob.�
�So are we going to be parents?�
Laughing he replied, �Congratulations Mom, you have a daughter.�
As they kissed a soft giggle could be heard.
�What exactly do you find so funny young lady?� Jack asked.
�I�m sorry I didn�t � I ...�
�Oh sweetie I wasn�t mad at you. In fact Samantha and I want to ask you something.�
�How would you like to come live with Jack and I on our world?�
�I�d like that! But would I ever be able to come back?�
�Of course, so long as it�s safe.�
�You know my best friend�s daughter is from another planet too and she lives on Earth with us. Cassie just turned seventeen so she�s been living on earth for five years. She�ll just love meeting you.�
�Sam you should tell your dad.�
�Come Kayla lets go tell Dad the good news.�
�Sam?�
�Yes.�
�What am I suppose to call you and Jack?�
�Well I guess that depends on how you feel about it but I know I�d love it if you called us mom and dad. But you can call us whatever you feel the most comfortable with.�
�Ok�
�Hey Dad we have some good news.�
�Really? And would that news have anything to do with this lovely young lady here,� teased Jacob.
�Actually yes, Jack and I are going to adopt her. We want a family and she needs one.�
�Congratulations Sammie you�ll love having kids. Just wait till you and Jack have your own.� Samantha cringed at the comment but let it pass but not before Jacob noticed. �I�ll have to talk to her when we get home� Jacob noted mentally.
�So kiddo what do you think about going and living with Samantha and Jack?�
�I don�t know yet, I�ve never been to �earth�
�You certainly are a smart little bugger.� Jacob said tousling her soft brown hair. �You are going to fit right in.�
