Samantha Carter walked into Jack ONeils meager office.
He could tell right away that she was upset.  The haggard
look on her face was clear. He could sense she was refraining
something important.  They had loved each other for a profusion
of years and could read every emotion the other had.  Sam
whats wrong I know that look?  Jack asked Jack I cant think
of an easy way to tell you she avowed with much trepidation
but I have cancer. She waited anxiously for his reaction.
He inherently hugged her. He had loved her from the first
time he had looked into the crystal blue eyes of the stunning
tall blonde.  Sam we will get thro this.  You are the most
relentless person I have ever met.  Jack whispered and
kissed her on the head.

Six months later Sam was still fighting her battle with cancer
living an ascetic life.  She had undergone exasperating
treatments and had various apparatus used on her to kill
the bad cells that invaded her body.  Sam refused to quite
working; she worked ravenously to keep her mind off the
treatments for the disease.  Jack walked into her office with
a machination to get her to take the afternoon off.  Come
on Sam.  There is a menagerie of exotic animals at the zoo.
Itll be fun to go see and you could use the fresh air. Jack
was begging her to go giving her a pleading look with his
eyes.  All right Ill go she agreed.  Sam had felt abjectly
all morning and decided it would be fun to spend the rest
of the day with the name she loved.

After they spent several hours at the zoo and were driving
home Jack pulled off at a small diner.  Why dont we grab
a soda? he suggested hoping she would agree. As they
entered an imperceptible smile came across Jacks face as
he watched her walk past him. Sam entered to find that there
was only a single table set for two in the middle of the dinning
area.  Please have a seat Ms. Carter Jack offered pulling
out her chair.  Sam sat wondering what was going on as she
had dinner served and a glass of wine poured.  They talked
while they ate and had a wonderful time yet Jack would not
tell her why they had come to this diner to eat a private meal.
At last he answered her questions.  The reason we came
here is because this is the diner where we had our first date.
And I would like to ask you Samantha Carter to be my wife?
He opened a small black box to reveal a crystal blue diamond
engagement ring that matched the color of her eyes.  Sam
could not believe what he said; he was really asking her to
married him.  Yes, of course I will be your wife Sam
whispered behind tears of joy.

One year later Sams cancer had went into remission and
she was standing in the vestibule of the church looking up
the aisle at the ordained mister and her husband to be.
Everyone they knew was there for the nuptials.  This day
had to be the best day of Sam and Jacks lives.
