New Mission - April
Colonel Jack O'Neill was sitting at his desk staring at the walls.

The truth was he was bored.  SG-1 had been on down town since Teal'c was summoned to Master Brat'ac on Rebellion business.  General Hammond had decided that the others could use a break that wasn't interrupted by Asguard transport beams, Earth bound Goa'uld, or even accusations of murder.

Sadly the kids didn't want to leave base.  Carter had some new doohickey that did - well something he couldn't understand - and she wanted to play with it although Jack suspected she was also working on her motorcycle. Danny had a whole bunch of new pictures and tablets he wanted to translate.  Something about a new language that seemed to be a mix of hieratic and something that appeared to be an early form of Hieroglyphic Luwian that discussed the goddess Maat. Daniel was excited, Jack thought it sounded boring.

So here he was sitting his office twiddling his thumbs.  He should go home do some cleaning.  He'd probably end up going fishing, but truthfully he really didn't want to go by himself.  He was tired of being by himself.

Jack stood-up.  He decided it was finally time.  He needed to go have that long dreaded talk.  He knew it was time - past time.  He stood and prepared to go see . . . . .

She was taking apart one of the devices SG6 had brought back from P3X-584 when there was a soft rap of the door.
Looking up she saw him, Colonel Jack O'Neil, her CO.
"Hey sir."
"Hey Carter what are you up to?"
"Well I'm preparing to do an analyses of the.."
"Ah. Stop. Just...never mind. So got any plans beside working on your motorcycle?"
"How did you know i was going to work on my motorcycle?"
"Thats what you do Sam, beside i know you."
The use of her first name didn't go unnoticed.
"Anyway" Jack continued "you up for some dinner say around 1900? I'll even pick you up?
"Uh sure sir. Ill see you then"
"Ya sure ya betcha ya"

Later that even Jack arrived right on time.
"So Sir where are we heading?"
"Ah I thought we'd go to ......

And somewhere far off in the distance, Daniel Jackson clambered out of the SGC. He had been working on the tablets for a while and was just cracking the language when Dr. Janet Frasier had come in and kicked him out to go home to sleep.
Knowing it useless to argue, he had up and left his office. Now, fumbling for keys in the pitch dark, he'd wished he made up more of an argument.

"I thought we would see if O'Malley's would let us in the door yet."  He glanced at her.  "Sound okay?"

"Ya, sure."

"Good."  He smiled at her.  "Your chariot awaits"

Sam walked out and got into his truck.

He walked around to the driver's side and got him.  She smiled, he smiled, but neither said a thing.

After a few minutes they arrived at OMalleys and went in.

Each was looking forward to tonight, hoping that perhaps it was time.

Meanwhile, Daniel was driving home and was driving past O'Malley's when he saw and recognized Jack's truck.  "So they finally let him back in?  Well maybe they'll let me in as well. . . So he stopped his car and went in.

Boy was he surprised when he saw Jack.  It looked like he was doing ballet.

Daniel's jaw had a nice meeting with the floor before his body decided to convulse into shivers of laughter.

"Jack," Daniel asked, wiping a tear from his eye and pulling him into a chair at a table where Sam happened to be sitting. "Have you been drinking?"

Jack glared at Daniel.  He glared at Carter.  Then he glared at Daniel again.  "I don't want to discuss it.  I never want this mentioned again.  It was a lost bet and unless you want to loose something you WILL drop this.  Is that understood?"  He just glared at Daniel some more as Carter tried not to laugh at him.

Daniel nodded slowly, "Sure Jack, whatever you say." Then he realized that Jack was with Sam. "Oh, I'm sorry. Am I interrupting something?"

"Uh no Daniel of course not. Why don't you join us."
"Thanks Sam. Jack is that ok with you?"
"Ya sure whatever." Jacks reply was less than enthusiastic
Sam simply gave Jack a 'we will talk later' look and flagged over a waiter.

Jack just nodded at her look.  He stared at Danny as Sam and Daniel chatted about some doohickey or discovery.  He really didn't know or care.  He just needed to find away to get RID of Daniel.  But how . . . . a delightfully evil thought came into his mind as he smiled broadly.  "Oh, yeah.  Thatll work."  He muttered to himself.

"What Jack?"  Daniel asked having heard something.

"Hmm?"  He pretended to be lost in his own world.  "Sorry, just thinking about tonight's episode of the Simpsons.  Don't mind me.  You all chat away."  He waved his hand dismissively as he went back to planning.
"If you're sure..." Daniel muttered uncertainly. He rested his chin on his folded hands and looked from Sam to Jack and back again. "So Sam, how are you?"

Oh just peachy Daniel.
