"Boomer Generation"
By,
Philip Ralph Belpasso "Phil"
We
were soon to graduate high school when President Kennedy was assassinated
ending our dream of Camelot. Then Jack Rubi shoot Oswald the next day also
live on TV we were starting to see blood on the floor in front of the thing.
Then the Memorial of the beloved President with that horse with no rider
and the boots turned the other way. And the heart-wrenching picture engraved
in our minds of John Junior saluting his father’s coffin as it rolled by.
Then the lighting of the eternal flame how often doses one see those lit?
Hopefully never but once in a lifetime would be enough.
The
conspiracy theories stared right away about other guns and hawks in the
beltway that thought JFK was not a gong ho worrier. Well Johnson his vice
who took over seemed to have a gun to head as he did a 180 degree turn
on his previous polocey and became hawk. From this confusion I think the
our final lesson was good men in this case, President Eisenhower and John
F. Kennedy "JFK" build a peace loving politics, but then for greed, evil
men infiltrate the system and corrupt it and soon it is time for good men
to take action again.
For
us 1965 was going to be the last of happy days as "The Thunderbirds" play
rock-n-'roll at the final high school recreation center dance. Brian Love
the lead singer, Phil the drummer recruited from the American League fife
and drum core, Phil is also Brian's blood brother so also are Eric and
Doug, the lead and bass guitarist. The Band will then be making their last
tour of the South to Florida before it brakes up. It's braking up because
of the draft in fact soon after this tour the boys will have to go to Newark,
NJ and register which means get a draft card and being at the beck and
call of a government which was under question.
The
starting point for the tour was a weekend performance at a Dude Ranch in
Penn. called Marlboro. This is a special place for Phil because there is
a stepping stool where the guests get on the horses. The Horses are lead
up and people get on like an assembly line. Phil is a good rider because
when he was young he helped out at the local horse farm in exchange for
letting him ride. He was almost considered a horse trainer. So he doesn't
need the stoop and laughs at Brian and the other members as they use it.
They
along with a Native American Indian guide loose the tourist crowd and ride
to the top of the Appalachian Mountains and stop for a rest and smoke a
peace pipe. As Brian looks at a map of the United States to chart the up
coming engagements. The guide shows them the " Great Spirit on his horse's"
telling how the North American continent he calls the New World is shaped
like a great horse as he points out how Florida is the front legs and Mexico
the rear, the state of Maine is the horse's Maine.
Phil
says that when he rides the roller-coaster at Palisades Park he would look
at the great George Washington Bridge with its 16 lanes making it the biggest
bridge in the world, and it looked like an iron bit that you put into a
horses mouth to control it and the New York harbor is the great mouth.
Now what are you smoking in that peace pipe! Says Eric, and the guide continues
saying the Great Lakes are the beginning of the saddle and Canada is the
rider with Alaska being his headdress.
This
is the Great Chief of all the tribes of men. And there is a Mountain in
North Dakota called Crazy Horse where you can see the rider in the shape
of the mountain. Phil says well that’s what I call a memorial then plays
“Hail To The Chief" on his fife.
The
guide asks to join the band as a roadie but Brian explains how the band
is braking up because of the Vietnam draft. How the two guitar players
will be going to college which will put off their draft problem for a few
years well in Eric's case it was eight years at Rutgers getting a Ph.D.
in physics and later designing the Patriot Missile system.
The
drummer Phil is taking a long-term solution and has decided to have a baby
with a close friend of the group, she is willing but Brian would have been
her first choice. After she is pregnant they try to marry in a small town
in North Carolina, the problem is that Phil is not old enough and needs
parental consent but his parents are not even aware of the wedding. So
the marriage never really is legal but it gets filed anyway as an incident.
The
marriage plan works out because when Phil goes down to the draft office
they accept the fact that he is married and he has a Doctor's notice saying
that his supposed wife is pregnant. Along with a promise of employment
from a defense contractor and an admission slip to a technical school.
Phil
has a younger brother who is a Conscious Objector “CO” because he believes
that the course that Washington is on well inevitably be the start of a
World war and a nuclear holocaust between the United States and the Soviet
Union which would bring about a nuclear winter and the extinction of mankind.
Because of the CO status he must put a thumbprint on his draft card and
in the records.
Brian
becomes a Disk jockey and runs into a problems with the Federal Communication
Commission about his show called "The Sender" something about his being
abducted by a flying saucer he calls " The Cosmic Wheel" and he is telling
his listeners, he is with some time travelers people. To keep him quiet
the government offered him some kind of a deal to become an “OSS” Organization
of Special Services. Entertainer and he will go in the army with Elves
status.
Phil's
child is a girl born November 6, 1967 and Phil is a happy father. Phil
who is a Philip named after his Uncle has an interesting Philosophy about
power. Phil believes in the power of the cross and the tip of a Philips
head screwdriver is a cross Philip calls it "Excalibur" a legendary name
of the sword King Arthur used to Unite the Kingdom's of Camelot, and believes
it is his mission to make tools to help Brian and other friends, he has
seen go to Vietnam. Phil works at the War Bird factory making helicopters.
Attending technical school at night and accomplishing the position as Blue
print Inspector.
By
1968 the Vietnam Vets started coming home from the war some in body bags
and most with their legs blown off by mines. Shocking for Phil was a class
mate Patrick Campbell who because of the closeness alphabetically of their
last names was Phil’s homeroom and Gym partner. Pat became a Marine and
he and Phil would always be partners if wrestling. One friend that did
make it home was Jim Bolmer who tells Phil about the nightmarish situation
happening, "We heard about the Russian supply ships sailing right up to
the North floating deep filled with tons of weaponry for the Viet-Cong.
We are told about the same Russian ships comeback down floating high and
light. We know what we can expect the next day "to get hurt or die. The
saddest thing is our seventh fleet the US Kennedy is right off shore and
they let the Russian cargo ships go by, because the U. S, Navy has its
hands tied by this cold war nonsense.
Phil
realizes that his brother is right about the Nuclear threat of the war,
so Phil goes to the protests at Columbia University, where the students
have taken very seriously President and General Eisenhower warning, they
are actually starting a movement to regain the democracy from the clutches
of the Military Industrial Complex, which is now being called the "Beast"
really the second the first beast was the Industrial Military Complex of
Germany which put Hitler into power.
Phil
gets involved and makes the mistake of bring antiwar the pamphlet with
Ike's speech to his job at the war bird factory. When he is caught giving
them out his boss calls Phil in to the big office. Phil looks like he is
turning into a "Peacenic" with a short beard and no tie and wearing blue
jeans. When Phil starts telling the boss, who is an ex-Marine Captain,
about the idea that President Johnson is a puppet of killing gang sponsored
by the Beast, the boss goes threw the roof and fires Phil.
After
Phil has left the office the boss calls the daft board and talks to his
friend in charge. When the draft officer hears about Phil's theory about
the killer team in Washington he and the boss conspire to have Phil drafted
and sent to die in Nam. The next day Phil receives a letter from the draft
changing his classification and giving him two days before an appointment
at Newark, NJ for his physical and induction.
Phil's
mother "Lady Liberty" is with him when he reads the report notice and she
tells Phil she doubts if Phil can get a C.O. like his brother. The news
reporters on TV are telling how the draft has now doubled and even the
Poet Boxer, Cassius Clay, isn't able to get a C.O. deferment. She tells
how she's afraid that even Tom might be reclassified and drafted and they'll
send him to the front line like they're going to do with you.
Phil's
mom tells the story about his birth and more important is how he was conceived.
The Story takes place in Jersey City on the Forth of July 1946, she tells,
how she and Phil's father had taken his sail boat out on the New York Harbor.
During the fireworks over the Statue of Liberty, Your father always told
me I looked like her and my sisters said it was our great grandmother who
modeled for the statue back in France before her daughter my grandmother
can here. Well, during the fire works well you "Phil" were conceived and
named in the spirit of Philadelphia, and also after your Uncle and the
apostle St. Philip, he was the one who said "show us the father" it means
lover of horses.
That
night Phil shows the notice to his father and his father who is a Veteran
of the W.W.II in the Pacific with Japan. Phil's father John named after
the apostle St. is an engineer and built air bases for the B52s, which
ended the war. He is now in the Civil Defense readying the people for an
all out nuclear war with USSR. He knows that such a war would be devastating
and end the World, as we know it.
He
tells Phil about the theory of cycle in history and relates it to the United
States history; He states that this upcoming two-hundredth bicentennial
is such a milestone, the years before the calibration 1976 will be a testing
ground for its leaders. Then will come the ultimate test the bi-millennium
of time keeping it was for that purpose. I feel you were born and therefore
named Philadelphia, which is love of nationalism, and it is your destiny
to become a great patriarch of Philadelphia Freedom.
The
fact is that capitalism and communism are both material states being such
they are bound to collide really hard; this is the war at the end of materialism.
Only a spiritual philosophy can win the day, you must see that both yield
to people loving one another, Philanthropism. He concluded by saying that
somewhere there is another an individual who is your personal opposition,
Phil says who! Vietnam Ho Chi Mien. At that time Ho was becoming a household
word via the television showing our boys dying and killing in Nam. Many
thought that Ho was the driving force that would turn the Dragon party
of Asia communist.
Phil's
father shows him W.W.II Photos as well as his medals and ribbons. There
are pictures of the uncles all dress in uniforms coming home from various
fronts. Phil thinks it a good idea to bring these honorable things to the
draft board to help him get his job back.
The
next day Phil had to go to the draft board and when he gets there he mentions
his wanted a C.O. deferment. Phil talks to the Commanding officer the one
who his boss called, Phil is told there's no hope for any type of deferment
and the officer calls the Sergeant at arms to escort Phil threw the line.
Soon Phil finds himself being bullied by the Sergeant who is going to hold
him by the neck and walk him threw the line
The
Sergeant is a black man and seems to have a chip on his shoulder and he
tells Phil about it. Cassius Clay, who is the heavy weight champion boxer,
disheartens him being proud of his African heritage. Cassius who is to
be drafted is trying to become a C. O. and not go in the army.
Cassius
is following the teachings of Malcolm X concerning the war. Saying that
this war is a US invasions and another oppression of white people over
the yellow men like they were to the blacks. So Cassius is becoming a Muslim
so he can be part of a group which says the war is not their fight.
Cassius
is a respected leader in the black community and for that matter in the
world. Cassius decision not to go will mean a ground swelling of black
who will become Muslims to evade the draft." Us black have our heritage
which is not Arab for Christ sake it was the Arabs who sold us into slavery
Now we'll never regain our heritage."
When
it gets to the time when Phil is to be finger printed. The officer says
this is it for you, once they get these you can kiss your freedom good
bye! Phil is only trying to get free accidentally elbows the Sergeant and
the Sergeant falls to the floor bleeding from the mouth. Suffering from
a big fake whiplash and a case of he wants a purple heart.
Phil
runs out the door and jumps on the motorcycle he left near the entrance.
The Plymouth Intruders driven by the military police are no match for the
Super Sportster Phil borrowed from Jimmy and soon Phil is with his Vet
friend Jimmy who gives Phil a ride to the George Washington Bridge where
Phil throws his Identification over the side and goes to Columbia University
where his brother is involved in a big demonstration.
The
situation at the University had now gotten out of hand. The Reverend King
has just given a speech, which connected the evil of the civil right problem
here, to what we were doing over in Vietnam. This speech tells that the
real evil is here in America, how we are the invaders “we had no Honorable
reason for being there” combine this with hat the General had began with
his speech warning the students about the IMC. Trying to control the vote.
Invoked the students to physical start to throw the R.O.T.C Military "Recreating
office Tactical Centers" off the Campus.
The
first thing Phil dose is call home, his father says that there a Military
car is in front of the house and saying that Phil is wanted for treason.
His father cuts the conversation short by saying good by and good luck.
Phil knows what that means he cannot return home again as long as the now
standing government exists. His only hope is the Old General Ike and the
movement he had started,
The
Students for a Democratic Society, S. D. S. has taken the administration
building and they were throwing the desks out the windows. Their grievance
about the military recruiting on campus spread to Brandeis University,
Mass. and Berkeley, Calif. The students at least want to keep the University
free from the War propaganda. Soon the Marshal guard is brought in. Making
the situation impossible for Phil, whom was a fugitive, with out any student
ID the gold parachute of the day?
Phil
says goodbye to his brother and heads north he stops at Walden Pond, Mass.
where he lives in the woods and eats left over picnics and even finds people
who are sympathetic with the antiwar draft dodger. Some tourist from Philadelphia
tells stories how many black young men were we being singled out for the
war they were first arrested for small crime like loitering J-walking,
sometimes the Beast would give out free marijuana and then arrest the boys
for possession when they took it some didn't even know what it was but
they were arrested anyway.
These
boys when they got to court were told charges would be dropped if they
went into the army. The boys knew Cassius was already sentenced to five
years in federal prison so what change did they have. It always seemed
these boys were the first to come home dead.
A
young lady comes over to lessen to the conversation she mention that her
brother had just come home dead but he was a volunteer, she says that there
is little difference to the family at home. Carolyn is a home girl she
live lives in the mountains with her dad she is half native American Cherokee
from her mother’s side. Phil remarks that she looks very much like Cheer
the sing. Carolyn says she has heard that so much she has learned a few
Cheer songs Phil shows her the flute and say that latter he would like
to play “I Got You Babe” her.
Carolyn's
father has become a recluse and has even turned off the electric. She invites
Phil to live at the farm and she has horses and is happy to have a riding
companion. They take trips to the top a great hill and sleep under the
stars. Carolyn starts to point out the constellations she has found a book.
Phil
is knowledgeable about the stars and tells her the most amazing thing is
how the constellation of the Great Dragon "Draco" is in the middle of the
great circle called the axis precession. He shows her how the Dragon's
tail leaves the circle at the star named, Thurban, which was over the axis
when the great pyramid was built. This is the pyramid, which is depicted
on the back of the dollar bill. The eye on the top of the pyramid might
be the eye of this Great Dragon the Egyptian symbol of Wisdom; they say
the Dragon is also the symbol of Asia
Then
Phil takes out his Philips-head Screw driver and shows her how the tip
is both a pyramid and a cross. Phil always thought that the eye on the
pyramid was Philip's eye like mine look, they're green like money. Carolyn
says well maybe someday you'll meet the dragon eye-to-eye and decided between
the both of you. It could even be Ho Chi Mien; I hear he worships the Dragon.
Phil says that maybe Ho is the one driving our country crazy.
April
4.1968, Phil and Carolyn are back at the pond for Phil's 21st birthday.
Phil is inviting people to have some cake that Carolyn made. Of course
Phil is telling the story of his conception, making note that in Asia it’s
the conception date, which is revered as a high breeds creation. The Buda
monks look for the Buda by a child conceived at the moment the last Buda
dies. And it is interesting to learn about April being nine months after
July of last year. He is also obsessing about Ho and starting to call Ho
the snake dragon devil and Ho was the reason for forcing our country to
be torn apart.
There's
a men who really is sad he has come to Waldan Pond to, well, maybe, kill
himself. He is a black man, he tells Phil that earlier today The Reverend
Martin Luther King was assassinated and this man says he's ready to go
with the Reverend to heaven, and that all hope for peace is dead. The man
has a copy of the speech which was the one Rev. King gave a year ago to
the day, this made everyone know what would happen if they continued his
antiwar teaching.
Phil
makes the connection that the fact that the assassination came one year
to the day from that speech was the IMC way of sending a message to other
who would teach a peaceful withdraw from Vietnam and that America was creating
the problem there and there would be no Honor in it for us.
This
speech given at Riverside Church NYC one block from Columbia was recently
being broadcast from Canada from the Mohawk reservation where there were
thousands of draft dodgers hiding out. This speech tells that the real
evil is here in America, how we are the invaders Ho is just nationalist
protecting his country. Phil is now confused as to who the enemy is and
must learn more about Rev. King.
He
reads part of the speech that Reverend King made about the war in Vietnam
and the draft being wrong "We have no honorable intentions in Vietnam."
This is a real giant step for Phil, a chance to come out of hiding and
maybe see his daughter who is now two The civil right organization really
didn't want to be connected with the ant-war movement but Rev. King had
made it so, at the cost of his life, The Military Industrial Complex, didn't
like King after that speech and he was killed for his antiwar view, not
his civil right work.
It's
a sad moment when Phil has to say good by to Carolyn who is pregnant with
his child sadly she says she supports Phil and tell him he must do what
he was born to do.
Part
2
When
Phil and the man get to Boston at Central Square it is in the state of
being a riot zone. The Black Panthers are calling for violence and have
statistics that 70% of the casualties in Vietnam are black.
Within
another two months the situation explodes as the last hope for a democratic
resolve, Bobby Kennedy, has been assassinated, another peace fighter dead
by the bullet, this coming on 6/6/68 the number of the Beast another warning
no one should try and run against Nixon and really no one did. The hostage
situation in Washington is more evident then ever. Now Richard Nixon had
put the voters under the heel of the Dark Force. Now everyone knew why
LBJ didn’t want to run against Nixon
In
Boston everyone was talking about the election Johnson was declining he
did have the heart to see any more die in Vietnam. He hated the war he
was forced to be involved in. The real fear of people was that Nixon who
was tie to the Military Complex a man who Eisenhower warned us about, Nixon
was to run and we all knew that he would win and make an all out war.
It
was Phil's contention that he would not live much longer. Demands on his
courage became greater every day. As his risks increase he could see his
possibly capture by the government draft office, Like in the civil rights movement women would become single mother
then go on welfare and hopefully draw moneys from the Pentagon budget.
Another
group called the blacks Panthers were now recruiting as if they were to
become a guerrilla war organization. That was contrary to Martin Luther
King’s view on peaceful change. So Phil leaves, to think about who's the
enemy is it Ho or is it Nixon. Phil's civil right friend gives Phil a Bible
and says the Rev "King" would want you to read this in here are the answers
to what you are seeking. While Phil is studying near Fenway Park he is
seen by some of the North Easter Tech. students, they were drunk and saw
Phil the Peace Hippie, they attack him saying that its the peace people
who are weakening the capitalist system and the communist will come and
make slaves of us as it was doing in Vietnam.
These
students were strange for another reason they were Atheist and Phil was
now becoming a Jesus freak to them, strange was the communists were also
Atheist. It seemed the Godless would create a hell earth for their unsaved
existence.
They
start to give Phil a beating, the whole time Phil has in his pocket the
Philip's head screwdriver and could kill these stupid "big" boys, The very
book they were giving Phil a beating for reading was saving their lives
because Phil had just read the section in St. John's revelations "He who
kills by the sword will be killed by the sword."
At
the Boston Civil Right Rally Phil meets some students who say they have
lost confidence in the administration in Washington. They go as far to
say that Nixon heads up an elitist group of conspirators who are going
to take over the country by assassinations, and treats of public figures
who stand on the side of peace. Like JFK, Martin Luther and Bobby all of
either went or spoke at Boston University. In Massachusetts, the home of
the Kennedy's, faith in the Government in Washington was lost. Sentiment
to stop the war was real high here.
The
Students who were from BU ask Phil to come to the dormitory in a new building
at 700 Commonwealth Ave. Perhaps the biggest dorm in the world. The students
of the S. D. S. from New York have written a Declaration to call for a
new government to stop Nixon and his cronies from stealing the election,
Stating the government was now under siege by the same people who killed
the Kennedy brothers.
Phil
is now living like a student he has ID that he borrows. He even attends
classes for the students who are only going to college to beat the draft.
Phil does a thesis for a Class on Phenomenology. It’s really the study
of coincidence. Example: there is a man who claims to be a healer. If the
healer's patients are getting healed the healing can be attributed to coincidence.
But the man is still by the law of probability a catalyst in the healing.
Phil
who has been studying the Bible asks about the miracles, starting with
Moses, it is concluded that the probability of a person being the beneficiary
of coincidences it can be said that said person has God on their side.
Then also can be said that if the event are evil it could be said that
a man has sold his soul to the devil as in the case of Nixon.
Was
this the reason why every body that was in Nixon's way was assassinated?
It was true that Bobby's death assured he would soon become the next Commander
and Chief of the US making him the most powerful man in history. Did Nixon
sell his sole to the devil?
The
students had a plan to stop the election and they were writing a paper
they did a really nice job writing what they called the new declaration
but they needed someone to sign it that was brave and credible enough to
start the petition to stop the election. The penalty for doing this act
was imprisonment or death It was a paper to stop the election, It would
asks Johnson to just stay while they figured out what happened to Bobby.
The death of Bobby really killed all hope for an electoral end to the War
and the draft.
The
students needed something to bring to Chicago's Democratic Convention.
There was still an election coming up and anyone who ran against Nixon
had to be crazy or have a death wish. His "White House Gang were as feared
as Hitler and the SS" The students needed a revolutionary document to be
presented to the people. Jerry Rubin and Abby Hoffman and some other students
would go to Chicago and begin the revolution.
The
declaration of Revolution was written to conform to the founding fathers
first ideas. Jefferson had the wisdom to put the provision of abolishment
in the Declaration of Independence. This meant that any people revolting
against the government would never go as deep as to end the county itself.
You can never abolish your right to abolish. The US was here to stay. It
just needed some alteration like an investigation into the killings and
then a new election. The students compare Phil's thumbprint to the one
made at the draft office "they had it from FBI records."
Okay,
Phil signs it in big letters so that Nixon can read it without glasses,
in the spirit of John Hancock. After all we were in Boston and readying
ourselves for a new tea party, which took place as the students joined
signing the petition. Phil started taking food from the cafeteria to the
draft dodgers along the Canadian under ground railway in the mountains.
One
day while student Phil was at the music store buying pads for his flute.
A Boston policeman stopped him, the policeman asked Phil for his draft
card. This was strange usually it was just ID Phil didn't have a draft
card those had fingerprints.
The
policeman tells Phil to look across the street it's the Draft Board Agents
with the FBI who are in town because of the civil right people becoming
antiwar. Phil says he doesn't have a draft card with him and the police
ask where it is, Phil doesn't have the hart to lie to the Policemen so
he just looks sad, scared and tearful.
The
Policeman figures out that Phil is a draft dodger and tells Phil that he
doesn't have the hart to turn Phil over to the FBI he says they are killing
and throwing in the river draft dodgers. The policeman tells Phil that
he will cover for him and suggest Phil gets really lost.
The
students had their hearts set on a peaceful resolve. Hopefully the court
would declare the draft unconstitutional because there wasn't a "Clear
and Present danger to the security of the United States." Therefore a draft
was inappropriate.
The
propaganda of Vietnam being the focal point of this cold war between the
two super powers, USSR, and US was just a trick. The idea that Vietnam
which was being called "the domino" in some ridiculous theory relating
Nations far older than USSR and US as mindless dominoes in some super power
game was just as fake as the Radar bee that started Rolling Thunder. Phil
gives his theory of the apple that never falls far from the tree. History
shows that the Kingdoms of the Holy Roman Empire were so oppressive that
when the people got their power, via revolution, only so much social change
could be achieved.
Even
the American Revolution of 1776 really the first successful revolt against
a King, did not bring a perfect society. The New United States still had
slavery, slaughtered Native Americans, and a Whig upper class ruled the
economy.
The
Russians when they revolted against their Czar Romanoff made good changes,
but they could only go so far, and they were starting from a really repressive
point. As bad as the communist leaders were in Russia, they were still
an improvement over the Czar, as was Sun Yat Sen and his counterparts Chairmen
Mau and Chang Kai-Shek who were improvements over the last emperor.
The
Asian World had an old history and they saw what happened to the democracy
in Germany when Hitler was set up by old Beast to take over the voting
system. So they were not as idealistic about voting. That is, until they
made sure they would get elected. They also saw the assassinations in the
United States as an example, of democracy run amok and they knew that our
Beast was going to elect Nixon their new Hitler. The students started their
democratic wheel turning, OFF! To the copy center went the new declaration
Phil signed. Within hours the whole world knew about the students plans
for a new America.
Within
a few days the dormitory became a beehive as the plans took shape to go
to Chicago and block the election.
It
was the arrival of the group called "the Vietnam Vets to end the War" which
was the turning point in the movement, and which would finally make Phil
and his fluting the sword of freedom.
These
men were not your typical war injured solders. They had been exposed to
a new type of war fare, Chemical war, with names like, Napalm, and Agent
Orange had shown its ugly hand on these sickened men. Burns do deep into
their skin reminiscent of horror films, always coughing deeply as if they
would die at any moment. This symptom where the result of the chemical
Napalm an incinerating bomb and Agent Orange a herbicide, And of course
the usual Legs blown off and hands missing typical combat wounds.
The
first thing is a showing of the Movie PT 109 which is about the late Presidents
Kennedy's W.W.II service history he was a Captain of a submarine chaser
and his older brother Joseph had die in Germany flying fighter planes.
The Vets really love to talk about how dirty the Kennedy's got defending
liberty.
What
a motley gang right out of hell, with their wheel chairs, crutches, and
not a high school diploma between the lot. But American's bravest. These
weren't third team draftees, these were first line volunteers. Real Marines
with hearts of purple, broken from knowing Russian ships loaded with supplies
of weapons were passing by our Seventh fleet whose hands were tied by some
kind of dark political, military industrial complex bullshit. These marines
also knew that the next days these same weapons would be used against them.
The
students thought that the revolution was going to be over before it began
with some kind of congressional court case exposing the conspiracy with
perhaps one casualty Phil. The Vets were more realistic, knowing that after
the election the new Commander and Chief, Nixon, Would good bad or ugly
have the full support of the arm forces and be virtually invincible, They
tell that they have already found that the Beast has sent hit men to Boston
to get Phil.
Jerry,
Frank John and the rest of the Vets had come to help. You would have thought
that the students would be thrilled to have experts in new high tech explosives
and even men who could fly million dollar toys. But, the campus was not
ready for an all out revolutionary war, and the Vets were telling them
scary things about training films that depicted the Asians as rats.
The
Vets explained that it is impossible to stop the election they have information
that the conspirators will be in Chicago. They tell why a real revolution
would be necessary, including violence. Their leader Jerry talks to Phil,
who was living in the student lounge on the top floor. Phil was sleeping
on a coffee table under the Ping- Pong table.
Jerry
learns fast that Phil's role models are Jesus, Gandhi, and Reverend King.
It was going to be a rough sell for the Vets who were ready and willing
to change the revolution into a violent one. Phil who was just starting
to enjoy his role in this new tea party gave the man a chance to present
his case.
As
hard as it is to believe, Jerry presented a very good case why the revolutionary
movement should ready itself for violence. First, his personal reason was
he had shot his commanding officer and was a fugitive from military justice.
Jerry explained how the shooting was his defending a Vietnamese girl the
officer was raping and he said the officer was going to kill the girl to
keep her quiet. Jerry arrived on the scene and a shoot out began.
The
whole story was that the Jerry had paid-sex with the young girl earlier
in the day and had planted his seed in her, what he was calling his last
sick hope for an offspring before the drugs and snipers finished him. He
was on some kind of hard duty because of an ongoing bad report with the
same officer, a Mess!
The
second reason really shook up the class as Jerry told about how the commanding
officers were allowing the soldiers to become addicted to drugs. Then,
the soldiers would be more controllable to be sent into situations, which
normal soldiers would report to the media. In some cases they were being
told to massacre whole villages one was MI Lei. Which didn't seem to bad
after see the effect of Napalm and Agent Orange on the villages the soldiers
felt like shooting them was half putting them out of the misery which would
be raining down from the airplanes sooner ore later? The value of life
is reduced to that of bugs when you see the aircraft giant spraying system
and firebombs destroying entire villages in seconds.
Phil
confirms Jerry's story by tell a story about Elvis Presley “The King of
Rock and Roll" Phil says that on their tour of the South his band, the
Thunderbirds, played a spot appearance at a religious revival. Brian loved
Gospel and the group would always donate their time and money to support
it.
At
one such gospel concert in a big tent where the group was invited to play,
Brian meets Elvis and they talk, Elvis tells about a problem he is having
with drugs, Elvis says the problem started in the army when he was given
drugs, Benzedrine, "White cross uppers" by his commanding officer, to keep
him awake. Elvis was always tired because of the nightlife, Elvis is now
addicted to pills and is praying for God to save him.
Brian
asks Elvis to come on stage with the group and sing but Elvis says he's
not allowed because his manager, the Colonel doesn't let him do non-scheduled
shows. Brian remarks that this is really pitiful, and between the army
story and the Colonel's orders, Phil, gets really turned off to the military.
The students who, for the most part found the Vets to be deranged, soon
changed their standoffish ways when Jerry broke open his duffel bag and
it was filled with drugs opium marijuana. After smoking it the students
listened intently as the Vets told of village massacres and tortures on
both sides. The place of Apocalypse Now, which is the pit of fire and brimstone
torment, and yes, opium to soften the impact. Like the stories which are
called Apocalypse from St. John's Revelations.
When
the Vet's stories become so gory and violent, the students become more
concerned about the dress code and college entrance exam scores, as reasons
to ask the Vets to go away. Now the FBI is zeroing in on Phil at the dorm
and they are calling in fake bomb threats to evacuate the building so they
can go in and look for Phil. The Vets leave and ask Phil to come with them.
Student allowances and Ping- Pong tables were getting childish for Phil
so he departs the collage life for reality. He's only 22 years old but
a father of a two year old. God, you think they'll draft her?
The
Student are going to Chicago and Phil is persuade by the Vets not to go
because there is going to be a whole gang of undercover man from Beast
well be there to really put a stop to the students. The Mayor of Chicago
has already sold out to the gang in Washington. Definitely no place for
Phil a wanted conspirator, who would be killed if, caught.
The
Vets tell how they found out about the declaration. It was from their intelligence
network in the Pentagon, they tell about a black list and Phil has just
made the top ranking spot. The only reason the IMC wasn't breaking down
the door now was because the Vets got here first. The IMC. Were planning
to have a bomb scare after the Vets leave and when the students were out.
Phil's command would be terminated. Phil is amazed when the Vets tell about
the draft dodger’s camps, which had been raided, by the IMC and how the
draft dodgers had been all killed "tortured" and their bodies deposed off
by the Beast.
Some
"help" from abroad in England as the Beatles and mostly John Lennon start
to talk out against the War. John's marriage to Asian women Yoko Ono helped
to end the prejudice, which was an important part of the IMC plan. When
John wrote the song " Give Peace a change" and John grows a beard the symbol
of protest and long hair the ultimate statement against the war. Phil is
in the army now as he walks off with the Vets warring the Army jacket Jimmy
gave him with his father’s ribbons on it.
This
New American army was going to a secluded area of New Hampshire. Near the
town of Le'Connea where the motorcycle rallies is held yearly. This is
Hell's Angle territory. The Vet who Phil had left the University with had
given their word that Phil would not lose status as father of this Revolution.
Phil found out later that the Vet's had made a deal between themselves
that if Phil left his cozy college place to return with then as scary as
they were. They would accept Phil as their leader via the student's declaration.
After all the students and the Vets had agreed on that one point.
Part
2
Special
Forces Science Fiction
Phil
and the Vets are now calling themselves the Volunteers of American Army
June 9.1968, leave Boston for a secluded area of New Hampshire, near the
town of Le'Connea. This is where the motorcycle rallies are held yearly.
It's Hell's Angel territory. The Vets had made a deal between themselves,
that if Phil left his cozy college place to return with then, as scary
as they were, they would make good on a deal they had made with the students
to accept Phil as their leader.
After
all, the students were taking the Declaration Phil had so boldly signed
to the Democratic Convention in Chicago to hopefully suspend the election.
They were calling for an investigation into Senator Robert Kennedy's death
and so they could look for connections to a conspiracy concerning the other
assassinations of JFK and Rev. King and Malcolm X and Jack Ruby. Also Governor
Gorge Wales's who had the nerve to challenge Nixon in his primaries election.
Wallace was pro-war so he only got crippled. The facts are that Nixon's
men were found putting pro McGovern literature in the apartment of the
shooter right after the attempt.
The
Vets said the students were dreamers to think that their Declaration was
going to get on the floor of the convention let alone the podium.
When
Phil arrived at Vet's headquarters Phil found it was like a military training
camp, everyone here was not in agreement about Phil becoming an instant
leader, some of the Vets from Korea were ready to make Phil an example
of their disagreement about draft evaders. However the older WW2 Vets,
who remember the way Hitler took control of the vote in Germany were sure
that Nixon was doing the same. The Vets might have given Phil a real inquisition
but Phil had his Philip's- head-screwdriver and any fight would be to the
death and that was unacceptable to the Vietnam Vets who had made a deal
with the students. Phil soon finds that the Vet here are referring to the
Vietnam War as "Apocalypse Now" meaning the war before the last days.
There
is one very important test for Phil before being admitted. He is taken
to the Chaplain who is in charge of interpreting apocalyptic prophecy from
the Bible. He listens faithfully to a radio station called "Family Radio"
from Berkley Calf, the founder of the station and its Chief Bible scholar,
Harold Camping, wrote a book predicating the coming of Jesus Christ in
the year 1994 meaning, says the Chaplain this is the time of the Apocalypse
War which can only be won Christ.
The
Chaplain takes out his Bible and says a short prayer "God direct the meditations
of our minds" and opens to John's Revelation, which describes the apocalyptic
war. Which is won by "the rider of the white horse" decried earlier in
the same chapter. This rider, the Chaplain is claiming to be the second
coming of Christ.
The
Chaplain says he hoped that Christ would ride one of his white horses when
he returns. Phil asks, what makes the Chaplain so sure the rider is Christ
and not just a Saintly man? The Chaplain says, that the rider has a sword
from his mouth. The Chaplain points to where Christ is standing on a cloud
with a sword from his mouth, dictating the book to John. The sword is symbolic
of speaking with the word of God.
Phil
points out how the rider is in Rev. 19 however later in Rev. 22.20 Christ
says "Yes: I am coming Quickly." Phil who was raised both Catholic and
Jewish tells about how Elijah must come before the day of the Lord, as
written in Malachi 14.6 "I will send you the prophet Elijah before that
great and dreadful day of the Lord" the Jewish people are opening the door
for a man not the Lord. The Chaplain says he has heard this theory before
and asks Phil to give some supporting evidence.
Phil
first addresses the Chaplain's assumption that only Christ can have the
sword from his mouth. Phil references to the Gospels of Matthew 11.17 which
is repeated also in Luke, where Jesus says that he and John the Baptist,
were likened to flutist "we fluted to them" the flute being symbolic of
the word of God as was the sword from the mouth in Revelations, therefore
the rider is John coming in the spirit of Elijah.
Phil
points out that the Rider has also a Rod of Iron is further proof he is
only the forerunner of the Lord. Referring to Rev. 2.27 where Jesus says
I will give him "the forerunner" a Rod of Iron. Phil then shows the crossed
tip of his Philips head screwdriver, which is a Rod of Iron.
The
sight of the cross inspirers the Chaplain who shows a tattoo he has of
a cross and he says to the men "Phil has his endorsement, " the men present
show they also have tattoos of crosses. The Chaplain explains how the cross
is the only religion his men had as they died during the invasion of Normandy
fighting to end Hitler reign of terror, their loyalty and willingness to
die came from knowing they would hopefully be buried with it over their
head.
Phil
says the rider is called by the name of God, Referring to the letter to
Philadelphia Rev 3.11 where Jesus says that he himself, will have a new
name and that well be the name of God and the City of God, and in John's
Gospel it says "God is LOVE" which is the same word as PHIL, and the name
Philip means lover of horses. The Rider's name is Phil, conceived and born
of the Lady Liberty July 4th as described in Rev. 12 "Her child will rule
the nations with the rod of Iron."
Phil
is tearfully as he hasn't seen his Mother for so long and maybe will never
see her again. The Chaplain asks about the last part of the description
of the Rider "he has Written On his thigh, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS"
the Chaplain says he has always had some confusion, because earlier in
Rev. 14 it says "THE LAMB IS KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS" making it
appear that the Rider, very well might be only a person. The Chaplain once
thought because Jacob was touched by God on the thigh, right before being
renamed Israel. That maybe Jacob could be the rider.
Phil
shows the Chaplain his thigh, the Chaplain sees that Phil has a birthmark
"on his thigh" the mark looks like a thumbprint. The Chaplain who is amazed
and points to the white horse and says this is an Arabian horse and if
you look on his right foreleg's thigh you will see the "THUMB PRINT OF
ALLAH" When Phil looks, he is also amazed to see the horse has the same
identical mark on its leg as he has.
Just
before the two started to glow the Vets come over the hill on their Motorcycles.
They need Phil's assistance with his Philips-head to fix the technical,
stuff Phil was a whiz at fixing thing that other people gave up on.
When
Phil arrives back at the base camp he finds the power station down because
it has really been brutally work on by a man who is so doped up that his
ability to do anything technical was gone. The drug problem had gotten
out of control.
Worse
yet the news had come in from Chicago telling that the Convention was turning
into a real disaster for the students. The news reports were showing the
demonstrators beat outside the convention center.
The
inside story was that independent photographers had taken pictures of the
Napalm and Agent Orange being dropped and the horror it was inflicting
on Vietnamese civilians, pictures of women and children with burning alive
and poisoned by toxic clouds. The Vietnam War became the first War in history
that showed to folks back home what their policies were doing to others.
Mayor
Daly must have made a deal with the IMC (Military Industrial Complex) because
he had been training his police for weeks to make sure the student's Declaration
was not presented. Another problem was that the draft dodgers came down
from Canada and the Marshal Guard had trapped them by setting up intense
border bridge blockades. The state of Michigan had become a killing field,
as the draft dodgers tried to escape from Chicago, and were run into IMC
agents who killed them and their bodies were being dumped into the Lake
Michigan.
The
Vets leave the camp and go to set up some kind of rescue operation to help
the escaping draft dodgers in Michigan, to get into New York State and
back up the Canada past the Niagara falls. The sight of the protesters
on TV loosing so badly put fear of the Military Police into the minds of
all of America. The United States like a once free horse was now broken
and became dorsal as Nixon would take this election and then coin the phrase
the "Silent Majority" meaning the peoples whose wills were broken to talk
back to the Military State he was going to setup. This is identical to
the people in Germany when Hitler did the something there, they became
Silent.
The
camp was no longer safe as the draft dodgers poured in from Chicago so
Phil goes back to Boston at Harvard Square there is a celebration over
Dr. Timothy Leary's winning a big court case about drugs.
Soon
the election was over and Nixon had won. The students at Boston University
had gotten beaten very badly in Chicago. The top protesters Abby Hoffman,
Jerry Rubin and five others were under arrest and they were in the same
kind of political mess like Cassius Clay. Cassius had now renamed himself
Mohammed Ali and was claming to be a Minister to get out of the five-year
prison sentence he was given for not going in the army. Nixon had won the
election by attaching the personal character of his opponent. But it was
really lost from the get go when Senator Robert Kennedy was shot. Nixon
went from bad to worse when he escalated the war and started to bomb civilian
targets in North Vietnam.

The
drug problem was starting on campus as in the Vets camp Phil thinks he
should meet this Harvard Professor, Dr. Timothy Leary who is an authority
on mental illness and hopefully drug addiction is one. He has discovered
a chemical treatment for depression ever he has been dismissed from his
professorship for using experimentally on himself and others. Maybe his
treatment would work for the addicted Vets.
When
Phil arrives at Cambridge Mass. where the Doctor could be found it was
getting an Ivy-league version of "the Times they are a Changing" Dr. Leary
was still experimenting with themind-expanding
drug called LSD which was being praised as the pill to enlightenment.
It
was a long shot but Phil hoped there was a possibility that the Doctor's
new psychiatric drug would snap the Vets out of their White China "opium"
depression. So Phil went to talk to the Doc. and acquire some of this miracle
medication. On his meeting Dr. Leary, the conversation quickly turned to
the way of peace and our higher coincidences, Dr. Leary spoke of Gandhi
and Christ, Buddha and Confucius, Pluto and the Enlightened peace makers.
The children of the universal intelligence. Phil didn't feel right giving
his friends anything that he haven't tried himself So Phil takes the mind
expanding medication. It might have been the biggest mistake of his life
but Phil took the Doctor's advice and the medication.
He
was about to learn why the effects of this drug is called tripping Soon
Dr. Leary is acting like a tour guide offering Phil suggestions on how
to look into himself and his imagination, the "God part" as the Doc. puts
it.
Phil's
thoughts turned to Brian Love and the happy days of being in the band,
If there was anyone who could give Phil advice it would be Brian after
all he choose the other rout to go in the army as an entertainment officer.
Dr.
Leary says he always likes to start a trip with a phone call and he offers
Phil a phone. Phil dials Brian's home phone and asks Brian's mother. She
tells them Brian left a phone number for the US Base, Subic Bay in the
Philippines She added how it was the oddest thing how Brian had just called
a few days ago and asked about Phil.
Phil
calls the base and soon he has Brian on the Phone. Brian tells Phil that
he has seen the Declaration and knows about Phil being on the top of the
Nixon's black list. Brian tells how Ramsey Clark, who was the Attorney
General for the White House and now has joined with Jane Fonda and had
sent a copy of the SDS Declaration to North Vietnam, Hanoi to "Ho Che Min"
and now Ho wants to talk to Phil about helping with the revolution and
the ending of the war
Brian
is really excited about a new development. How Ransey Clark had mentioned
about a report, which was ordered by JFK the report, is called the Pentagon
Papers and assesses that the ground war was not winnable. If the report
is made public the war will be seen as the sham and travesty it really
is. Brian says the mission if your willing to accept it will begin at this
address in Philadelphia Phil says he will meet Ho it's almost written if
\\n the stars they meet. Brian is a little confused at Phil's poetic answer,
Brian concludes by telling Phil he doesn't need to fear capture any more
because the FBI knows about the mission which is being code named "The
Red Dragon."
Brian
says Phil should come alone and not tell anyone. Brian gives Phil the address
in Philadelphia of the Special Forces connection, Brian explains the code
word Science Fiction to Phil. SF means that the sponsors of the mission
claim that this mission is fiction. After hanging up the phone Phil asks
Doctor Leary if he likes Science Fiction? Phil sees a book on the Doctors
desk titled "The Secret Doctrine" by Helen Labaski, Phil asks about it,
the doctor says you really have to read it for yourself you can get it
at the Harvard Coop book store. Phil says some Secret.
Doctor
Leary gives Phil a prescription of enlightenment medication. The Doctor
warns Phil about taking anymore-white China dope. It doesn't mix with the
prescription. Phil asks the Doctor to let him out the window so the Vets
and God knows who else will not follow him.
Getting
to Philadelphia is easy there’s a big rally in Washington and the Students
are shipping in new recruits. Nixon has started his New Black out so the
Public is really unaware of the size and scope of the situation by the
students who are working with the Democratic party to find a weak spot
in Nixon's wall he has put around himself. He's now tapping every room
in the White House and any other building he can get a wire into, so he
can start his power play for a dictatorship.
Phil
gets out of the bus near Philly and then goes to the meeting place, it's
a boxing gymnasium in the South side of Philadelphia. When Phil arrives
at the SFSF office which is in the back of the gym he is met by a large
strong looking man who introduces himself as The Philadelphia Stallion
a champ Boxer and free lance mercenary soldier.
The
stallion seems to know Phil's background and immediately starts talking
about draft evaders, He tells Phil about Cassius Clay the now untitled
Champ of the World, The Stallion says there will never be another champ
like Cassius he was the Greatest and I didn't believe him when he told
me. You draft resistors are as honorable as any in uniform. There been
a lot of Revolutionaries in history but none that ever took on the likes
of Nixon, the Commander and Chief of the United States.
After
clearing the thumb print comparison to the Declaration test the stallion
says he will get Phil to the Philippines to meet Brian. They go to a Church
and Phil is fitted with religious dress. The Stallion calls Phil Monk but
changes his mind after seeing the tip of Phil's screwdriver, the cross
of the Brotherhood.
Father
Phil and the Stallion take a commercial plane to the Philippines as OSS
"Organization of special Services" guest. Followed close by the Nixon's
men. The Stallion slips and says he heard that Phil was going to kill Ho
Chi Min and end this freaking war. Phil is now really quite surprised and
says, Holy shit kill Ho! Everyone in the plane wonders what the father
is blessing about, know wonder Phil was getting the red carpet treatment
from the FBI, Phil goes along with it, not to get in trouble.
Part
3
THE
PHILIPPINES 1969
When
the plane lands Brian is accompanied on the runway with Women dressed as
a nun, they have come with an army convoy to fetch Phil. Brian introduces
Phil to the Sister her name is Maria she says hello and then gives orders
to the driver to start a get away plan, to shake Nixon's men who have been
following Phil. The Stallion remains behind to help in the plan.
In
the jeep Brian tells Phil that for the most part this plan was Maria's,
she is in the Filipino nationalist party and she is real concerned about
Nixon's bombing civilians in North Vietnam.
Maria
says that the situation has become out of hand that the Philippines who
had somewhat in part supported the Americans fighting in Vietnam were now
discussed at the way America was using chemical weapons and destroying
the innocent peopling and creating an environmental toxic waste land out
of what one once the rice bowl of Asia. If this continues the whole regent
will be facing starvation and hunger and sickness with chemical scars where
not part of the original deal, which was to be ideological.
Maria
then starts to brief Phil on the history of the region. First by showing
Phil a map which shows that the Philippines is a string of Islands right
of shore of Vietnam neighbors to say the least It is from our air base
that Nixon is using for storage depot for the Naval mine and God know what
else which are doing the devastation on Vietnam. Their actually trying
to kill Ho Che Min the leader of Vietnam who is living in Hanoi, by bombing
the whole city to kill just one man.
Phil
says to Maria, so your the one who came up with the idea that I should
kill Ho and then you think the bombing is going to stop. You really don't
know Nixon, he wouldn't stop till China stops him like in Korea but this
time China has the Atomic bomb. Where looking at the end of the world with
his way of thinking. Phil then starts playing his flute to show he has
an attitude.
Maria
says it was her idea for Phil the come, but killing Ho was just a ploy
to get you here. Brian says that when Nixon first heard that Ho read your
Declaration of Revolution and that Ho wanted to help you, Nixon was going
to kill you. It was my suggestion to Nixon that you would go along with
the killing Ho plan that persuaded IMC to let you live if you'd accept
the mission, You know how much they like assassinations.
Marie
tells Phil more about Ho. First Ho is not his real name, the name Ho Che
Min is more a title then just a name, it means the breath of the Dragon,
Maria shows a map and notes that the flag of Burma Vietnam's neighbor,
is a red dragon. Brian says there is an ancient party of the Red Dragon,
which is a powerful symbol throughout all of Asia.
Ho's
real name is Nguyen Tat who is a native Vietnamese, he was French educated,
he took on the Title Breath of the Dragon, making him the spokesperson
for the Dragon party as a returning Christ would be for Christians. As
our calendar is based on the birth of Christ, theirs is based on the Constellation
of the Dragon and movement of the stars around it.
The
Dragon organization was in hiding during the time of the French occupation,
which was from 1300 AD at which time Vietnam was a possession "colony"
of France. In 1938 when Germany "NAZI" and the Japanese divided the World
into two parts. Vietnam was in the Japanese half and after Germany invaded
France the France left Vietnam and the Japanese took over.
World
War II brought new instant respect to the Dragon party and Ho Chi Mien
emerged as spokes person. The Dragon was now an Alley of the countries
who opposed Germany and Japan. Franklin Roosevelt, Joseph Stolen and Chairmen
Mao bring Ho in to their Alliance. After the defeat of Germany and Japan,
a cold war started as the allies started to recreate the nations that were
occupied by Germany and Japan.
These
talks turned into arguments and then became known as the cold war. The
two sides being the communist countries of, Russia, China, against the
capitalistic counties US, French, and Britain. This was not just a cold
war in the case of Korea hundreds of thousands died. As the United Nations,
which was formed in 1947 defended South Korea from the communists in the
North connected to China and supported by the Russians.
But
Vietnam was a completely different case from Korea in so much as the French
had the nerve to try and reclaim Vietnam as a colony again and because
the French were a member of the Capital alliance, The US and the others
cut off their relations with Vietnam.
Ho
has no choice but to ask the communists for weapons so he can fight against
the French occupation. With the Help of China and Russia Ho defeated the
French in 1954. It looked as though Vietnam would finally have its independence.
However Americans along with a small contingency of other countries Australia
and Korea wanted to interfere with Vietnam's independence.
The
American plan was to try and split Vietnam in half. This was not sanctioned
by the United Nations because Vietnam is registered as one nation. America
tries to start a revolution in Vietnam and sets up a fake government in
the South at Saigon.
Phil
says it doesn't sound as though Maria wants Ho killed. Brian tells how
all options are left up to Phil and Maria. Maria is afraid that if an assassination
is linked to the US, especially to a Catholic Priest, then USSR and China
will arm Vietnam with Atomic weapons to eliminate the Philippines and all
Catholic missionaries. She is really upset about Nixon's plan but Brian
needed some story to get Phil here to do something. Brian asks Phil what
are you going to do? Chief or is it Pope.
Phil
says He is not going to kill anyone, stating his intentions are to have
swords beat into Philips head screwdrivers "he who kills with the sword
shall die by the sword." Maria is confused and Brian explains about the
tool with the cross on the end and Phil shows his screwdriver to Maria.
She says she loves this tool, saying, they fix everything. How did you
ever get your name on this? You must really be a Prophet. Phil says he
has big friend in high places like God in Heaven. Brian says that's bigger
then the IMC and its false President. This Ho mission is just show business,
what they're really after is people who know about the Pentagon Papers.
It's a report ordered by J. F. K. right before he was shoot we think this
was the big motive, they were trying to keep Kennedy from going public
with the papers which stated that Vietnam was bad to worse situation and
our men have been dying in vain.
Just
as Phil is to ask about the papers, they get to their destination, which
is a boat yard where a boat is waiting to take Phil and Maria to Vietnam.
Brian reminds Phil that this mission could mean the difference between
Peace and World War Three or the end of the world. The boat was a modified
PT boat made into a private fishing charter. The captain who really thought
Phil to be a priest asks Phil to perform Mass for the eight man crew, With
Maria's help, the crew are satisfied, They were having a little fellowship
after the service when the men tell how this PT boat now a fisher was identical
to the one sailed by J. F. K. in WW2 when he and the Americans drove the
Japanese out of the Philippines.
The
Captain tells Phil how important J. F. K. being Catholic was because he
was part of the body of Christ through the taking of the bread and wine
ritual. Men must be part of the body of Christ to have power.
The
Captain explains how sadly the Filipino people remember the Japanese occupation
and will never forget President Roosevelt and Ho Chi Mien's picture together.
We just want peace and an independent Vietnam is only fair. Its Ho's country
he fought and his men died and suffered. Please pray for peace and that
the American realize Ho only wants what's best for his country. If Nixon
continues the bombing of the civilian targets and go through with his plan
to mine Vietnam's harbor, then the Philippines will start getting strikes
from Vietnam. It's not going to take much considering the stockpile of
explosives stored in the Philippines and so near the volcano they could
blow the side right out. Brian points to the volcano call Pinatuba, which
has smoke coming out the top.
The
Captain says he was in the Gulf the night of August 4, 1964, and he remembers
how the US created a fake attack by the Vietnamese just to start the war.
How could a country as powerful as the US overreact to a blip on radar
without verification? They never even asked the Philippine about our ships
in the vicinity.
In
the distance they can see the great US Seventh Fleet, which is lying in
the Gulf as Russian ships pass by loaded with weapons for the Northern
Viet-Cong Army. The captain remarks how horrifying and disheartening it
must be for the US sailors knowing that these same weapons, which are in
their sights will soon be in the hands of the Viet-Cong and used to kill
and hurt the US troop on the land.
Phil
and Maria are dropped off at a Navy Seal landing spot, not secure but it
exists just south of the DMZ (demilitarize Zone) this DMZ is another example
of political bullshit the Russians and Americans worked out to avoid the
cold war from becoming a nuclear holocaust. It’s a boarder line between
the North Hanoi and south Saigon, the newly created American supported
government. Similar to the division of Korea in 1950 in that war America
was the only side with the atomic bomb, but the communist in North Korea
still attracted. This time is different because the United Nations recognizes
Vietnam as only one country so Ho has the majority of the world on his
side. China and Russia are both atomic superpowers so they’re the treat
of atomic destruction Worldwide.
At
the landing point Phil is reminded by the "gong ho" Marines that as far
as the US was concerned this was an assassination mission and when Phil
meets the Commanding Officer who will be getting Phil up north, The officer
tells Phil that Ho is a puppet of USSR and must die as an example to other
dictators supported by USSR. The officer and the men ask to see Father
Phil's screwdriver which they think will be used to kill Ho, in a Knightly
way they start to kiss the cross tip, saying hail to Excalibur ruler of
the nations.
A
truck convoy takes Phil and Maria up to the entrance of the Dragon Jaws
Bridge where they are met by North Vietnamese and treated as a peace mission.
As they are lead over the bridge Phil can see the enormous amount of weapons
that USSR is shipping in without US Naval interference. This must be the
subject of the Pentagon Papers Brian said were worth killing to keep hidden.
Maria
points out that the VC army men all are carrying rubber bungy cords. These
will be used when a man is wounded either in the leg or arm. The rubber
is then used to stop the bleeding and the man can continue the battle.
Some of the Cong didn't even have shoes. But all were carrying new Russian
made weaponry. This is the determination of a man fighting for his homeland.
The
reality of the situation sets in, these are a peoples fighting to keep
their Country. Communism the French and America all are unwanted invaders
to fight to the death to repel. Outside politics matter little to a men
whose home and family are at stake, a home that has stood for thousands
of years.
Phil
says the Russians are the Evil Empire but as far as the Cong here is concerned
all of Europe are part of that evil empire. " the whites" as they were
called. Reverend King was right about only a fraction of these men even
know what communism or capitalism are and couldn't care less.
The
seriousness of the situation become evident now as they see the dead land
poisoned by the spraying of the Chemical Agent Orange and then they hear
the choking by the American soldiers
A
truck takes Phil and Maria up north where Phil is to meet Ho Chi Mien and
work out a peaceful end to this misguided war. The Truck stops at a village
with a large farmhouse in the center. The truck drives up to of all things
a horse Ranch and lets them off and escorted them into the house.
Inside,
Phil is finally search and his screwdriver is taken from him but not his
flute. There is a Video crew in the house but they are on kind of a stand
bye. Phil is lead into a room where Ho is sitting on the floor dressed
in white playing a flute or trying to.
The
guard gives the screwdriver to Ho and leaves Phil alone with Ho. Ho hands
his copy of the student's declaration to Phil and asks Phil to sign next
to his name and also Ho has an inkpad, which Phil can use for a thumbprint.
To be compared to the one on the Declaration as to make sure this is the
real Phil the head of the revolution.
Phil
realizes he doesn't really recognize Ho from any pictures. This man might
not be the real Ho Chi Mien. Now were really getting SF (Science Fiction)
on top of SF, Phil would have to accept that this Ho was like a Santa Clause,
you know its just a man in custom but you can never really be sure. Hello
Ho glad to meet you guess you know my name.
Ho
talks about the flute "it's not as easy as it seems," As he shows his full
size Philharmonic flute, the one with all the fingering, Phil says well
it makes all the notes shape and flats. Ho then comments about the popularity
of the western scale of music, do, ray, me fa, so, Ho has an eastern scaled
flute which has 10 notes. Ho's concerned about the Dragon's counties are
all falling in love with the western scaled music.
This
enthusiasm for the scale is only one example of how the Dragon is losing
its influence with the people, Christmas and the Birth of Christ "Anno
Domini" Calendar are likewise taking over. The East has its own historical
calendar in which the Dragon and its cycles named after animals are a tradition,
its central to our whole way of life. Ho is really amazed when Phil tells
how many other people fell the same way about the AD calendar. Phil tells
about the Jewish traditional calendar and the Mayan and Islamic even the
calendar of from the story of Excalibur. When Phil says that there are
even people that believe that the use of the AD calendar by the US government
is an illegal union between church and state, Ho says he wants to work
out a deal if the Asians Dragon Calendar people use the Philharmonic eight
tone scale for music then the Western counties and the United Nations will
use the Dragon Star position Calendar as the UN Calendar.
Phil
thinks it over and realizes that Ho is right and remembers that the Bible
even said to base the calendar on the position of the stars. Phil agrees
and promises to make a commitment to a New Calendar based on the position
of the Dragon. Ho finally gets to the reason why he wanted to see Phil.
Ho has a plan. Phil is not really surprised when Ho tells him that this
plan, involves the China White Opium the very stuff Phil left boot camp
to get away from the stuff making everyone crazy dummies.
It
seems that the only thing that the French used Vietnam for was the distribution
chain in a French connection between the orient and New York City drug
trade.
Ho
tells about how the Chinese government has endorsed his plan to do to the
United States what Britain did to China a hundred years ago, only yesterday
to them, it was referred to as "the Boxer Rebellion" which was the tactic
of give free opium to the Chinese people similar to the giving of alcohol
to the native Americans. This dope destroyed the old Empire of China, however
the country was saved from becoming a colony of Britain by Sun Yat Sen,
Mao and Chang Kai Shek.
The
British hoped to destroy the Chinese people and there by its Industrial
Military Complex, there by crippling China's ability to resist the invasion.
Well, now world power balances on this nuclear arms race and America is
trying to out produce Russia.
Ho
says he has no love for either but it’s the US, which is invading his country.
So he has been giving the US troops free drugs compliments of China. The
plan has been working the Americans are shooting at themselves. They don't
have a chance in a ground war and Nixon's bombing of the civil target in
the North is only making the Cong madder.
Ho
mentions how he realizes the peace movement in the US is strong but points
to how Hitler took over Germany by destroying the vote, and then he was
in compete control. The way Nixon is now bombing the hell out of the North
shows the same kind of dictator mind. He shows pictures of the hospitals
and schools Nixon had bomb in Hanoi.
Phil
asks what Ho expects him to do about bombing and mining in Asia? Ho says
his plan concerns the students who had Phil signed the declaration and
the leaders of the antiwar movement. Ho has the idea of enlarging his drug
addiction plan and wants to get Phil to influence the students so they
get hooked on the China white. This would cripple the US industrial war
machine and then the USSR could win the arms race. Phil remembers the condition
of the Vets back home and so many disasters with technology because they
were doped.
Ho
says he has an enticement for Phil if he accepts to help in the plan, it
well be a kind of gift, the Japanese left it at this farm. This is a breeding
farm for white horses. Ho asks Phil to look out the window. These horses
were supposed to be ridden by Tito the Empire of Japan after his conquering
of the Asian half of the world.
Being
a Priest has its advantages, Phil has a Bible and seeing the white horse
reminds Phil of the Chaplain's studies, Phil is having a thought and takes
out his Bible and opens to John's Revelations 19, where the rider's battle
is with the beast and the false prophet. An Angel deals with the dragon
later. Phil realizes he is in over his head with the Dragon party. Phil's
mission is to battle the false prophet "false President Nixon and the beast
is the Industrial Military Complex" back home, as far as this trip is concerned
it has been in the words of the Doctor "enlightening" but Phil's war was
in the streets of the new world. As far as Ho's plan to have Phil distribution
drugs, that was exactly the opposite from why Phil left his post at the
base camp, to decrease drug addiction.
Ho
calls Phil's attention to how the democratic process is almost dead in
America. Ho offers Phil a position of kind of Commandant of the new world
and will send Phil this horse after the Communists beat the US. Phil sees
that this horse is almost identical to the one he had ridden at the boot
camp in New Hampshire. Then Ho shows Phil a map of the United States with
Ho's drug trafficking schedule, starting from New York City 76th St., then
Midwest, Michigan State University, and going across the country to Berkeley
California.
Phil
thinks back on the condition of the Vets how they were already distorted
by drug addiction. Ho's plan would probably work with the SDS (Students
for a Democratic Society) hooked on the stuff. Considering the size of
the demonstration and the amount of motion between colleges where the protesters
travel.
As
far as Ho statement about the state of the Union he was right about the
problem with the Presidency being lost as a representative of the people,
for the people by the people were now only words on deaf ears. There would
have to be a radical change in leadership with the electoral process dead
we would have to get a resignation by both President and Vice President
(VP) to cleanse the office, only a full scale revolution could get both
the President and his VP out, it would be the only way to chase the gang
out so the office could be restored to it initial luster prescribed in
Philadelphia 1776, Just getting rid of Nixon was not enough his VP and
cronies had to go with him.
Phil
thinks back to his study with the Chaplain and realizes the false Prophet
was beaten by the sword from the mouth of the Rider of the white horse.
This is the flute, what a revelation, music and concerts and records so
the people well have a new way to vote.
Ho
tries the old trick of putting some dope in the incense to get Phil interested.
Phil tries the newer trick of putting some LSD in Ho's tea. Soon Ho is
tripping big time and Phil is getting stupid from the smoke as reality
started to fade remembering what the Doc. said don't take any more dope.
Ho
asks Phil to play flute he plays "America the Beautiful." Ho feels really
sad in being now the enemy of people who he once called the new hope of
the world giving Independence for all the small Nations.
Ho
started telling about his views about honor and about martyrdom, he tells
the story of the starting of his nation Vietnam and its struggle with China.
Its a story about a women who rode an elephant charged fearlessly into
the Chinese lines, she lived at the time when the Empire of China was the
largest of any. Her courage gave her countrymen the courage to finally
hold their lands and create the nation of Vietnam.
Phil
wondered if this determination of the Vietnamese people was included in
the Pentagon Papers. These people were not going to loose a ground war
If they could defend themselves against a neighbor as strong as China and
survived the Japanese attempt and are now united with their victory over
the French, how could America a half a world away ever defeat them.
The
reality was that Nixon's new plan to bomb the northern civilians, and he
was going to, in fact (more bombs were drop on Vietnam by Nixon then were
dropped on Germany during W.W.II). These people were experiencing hell
from the sky. Ho who would have had a ground war won easily, now was confronted
with a sky war, which he was genuinely worried about.
Ho
was really upset and disgusted by the chemical war which the American's
where using, The civilians of Vietnam were getting seriously hurt and killed
and the long term effect of the toxins where still not known but the estimations
were that the land and the people would suffer some hundred years after
the war ended, from the long term saturation of the land. Children were
already being born with birth defects.
Ho
was hard pressed to come up with a catalyst, which would result in USSR,
or China giving him air support. In no way should it be implied that the
Vietnamese people would ever surrender. They had already dug themselves
in to the ground into a maze of tunnels thousands of miles long.
Phil
had heard stories back at the Vets Camp about the US Troops who were called
tunnel rats and they would have to go into such tunnels. They would crawl
around in the dark and if they didn't get shot. They would usually wind
up lost in the dark killing women and children.
Ho
starts to examine the cross and pyramid shaped tip of Phil's screwdriver
he says I'm caught with my back against the Great Wall and an Iron Cross
at my face. Do you know what Chairmen Mao thinks he's going to get for
all this help he's given us? He wants a big peace of our land. This will
be another war we will fight after the America leaves.
Ho
tells Phil if Phil isn't going to accept the White China drug plan, then
Ho will have to play in to the Russian Marxist plan. You've heard his quote
that "Religion is the opium of the Masses." Well, did you ever see a Buddhist
monk burn himself up to protest the war?
He
motions for Phil to come closer as to tell a secret, when Phil is right
close, Ho in the spirit of Victory at any cost, Ho takes the screwdriver
and pushes it into his chest. Then holds Phil and calls for the cameramen
who were right outside the door.
The
cameraman comes in and tries to tell Ho that Maria has taken the power
supply to the video camera and asks Ho to wait a minute. The guards see
it is to late so they go to capture Phil, just then the lights go out and
Phil remembers the horse outside. He jumps out the window to find that
there is a ground fight starting between Maria's Filipinos and the Guards.
Phil
manages to open the gate and the horse is willing to work out a deal with
Phil, freedom for a ride. Phil gets on the wonderful horse and without
any anything but the halter Phil rides away from the house, which is a
blaze. Over head can be heard the sound of Choppers coming in from both
the North and the South and the roar of F 16 high and Migs up in the distance
dogging. The day the shit hit the fan.
The
fantasy of thinking he was going to ride into the sunset ended when the
horse got hit by a bullet from the guards, not bad enough to take him down
immediately but it wouldn't be long. Phil put his hand in the wound to
try and stop the bleeding.
Overhead
a US chopper dropped a rope and as the horse fell Phil grabbed the end
of the rope on the other end of the rope was the Philadelphia Stallion.
Pulling Phil up almost as fast as the horse had ran. In the chopper was
Maria who told Phil that, Ho's contingency plan if Phil didn't accept the
drug conspiracy was to have "Father Phil" blamed for Ho's assassination
starting a religions war against Christians in Asia. This would prove to
Russian that Marx was right about their anti-religion doctrine. For this
Ho's people would get the bomb to take out the Philippines air base from
where the mines and bombs were coming.
The
Stallion tells Phil that he did the right thing by refusing the China White
plane because if Phil would have accepted Ho offer then the farm would
have became a US air strike. The Stallion points up to the B52, which could
be seen as a dot in the high sky. The Stallion said that he would have
called an air strike on his own position to stop Phil from going north
with Ho. The Stallion tells how he would have felt responsible because
it was his getting Phil the Priest, ID that would have brought on any chain
of events, which would have come from the mission. The Stallion says that
the ID he had given was so good Phil would have been eligible to become
Pope with it.
Phil
sees that Maria has gotten her foot hurt during the battle, which save
his life. They have a stop over in Saigon and they try to spend a real
nice night and day. Phil, still Father Phil is calling Maria who is still
dressed as a Sister, "Mother Superior" while he treats her like a real
first lady. The news of Ho's death begins what is called the fall of Saigon.
The restaurant they are in gets gassed and fired bombed. Phil carries Maria
out to the street behind them Saigon is a blaze.
The
Stallion picks them up and takes then to the air base where there is starting
an evacuation. They get a transport and return to Soubic bay Air Base,
Philippines Where the base is reading for a Nuclear attack from North Vietnam
the Philippine are riding the base and trying to take the bomb away from
the Volcano. When they get back to the Philippines
Brian
who is really excited about developments concerning the Pentagon Papers,
has mixed feeling about the mission he tells Phil that the only chance
to stop the Russian from giving Vietnam the bomb now, is to prove to the
Russians that the Student Revolution movement will pull down Nixon and
the IMC men putting an end to this war. Then there will be a full-scale
evacuation of American troops from Vietnam. Brian reassures Maria that
there wasn't any pictures of Father Phil and Ho together.
Brian
says this mission never happened it is classified, as Science fiction meaning
even if it did get out it isn't real. Brian tells Phil that even the top
brass are starting to smell the coffee and are looking for a way out. No
one has a stomach for a nuclear confrontation; these Pentagon Papers will
prove to the Military that Nixon and the industrial contractor have been
using them. Who were making big money while the enlisted men were dying,
and the Pentagon papers had told the White house that this ground war was
going to be a disaster but the report was hijacked by IMC men.
Maria
asks Phil to give the US people another chance to recreate a Democracy
again. She tells Phil to make peace before it's to late. Maria has a present
for Phil it’s a new crossed tip Screwdriver. Maria says "I just love these
things How did you ever get your name on them to" Phil says the real question
is how I ever got my name on a people and place as beautiful as this.
Part
4
Brian
gives Phil a phone so he can call the dormitory at Boston University, Phil
tells the students about the new development and says that we must go ahead
with a massive demonstration to prove to the Russians that Nixon is not
in control, We're running the risk of WW3 if the US continues the bombing.
Phil
gets to Alaska by way of the string of air ports across the Aleutians,
He is really amazed when he finds that Brain has arranged for Kemosaby
their old Native American friend from the Dude Ranch, to meet Phil
Kemosaby
says it was he who put the idea of the great chief in Phil's mind. Kemosaby
know that Phil was special the way he laughed at Brian when Brian needed
the stepping stool to get on the horse. Brian was a really good singer
and showmen like Elvis and Frank Sinatra. Only the great Chief would laugh
at one as great as Brian.
They
cross Canada in small planes to get to a Reservation where there are thousands
of Draft Dodgers who have been with the Native Americans arming themselves
in preparation for an invasion by the US government.
Phil
tells about the new momentum of the Viet-Cong Tet and the casualties in
Saigon, retaliation for the devastation from the Nixon's Bombing of North
Vietnam. Phil asks if anyone has heard about the Pentagon Papers which
might be the silver bullet to take out Nixon,
The
draft dodgers are really excited about the prospect that the revolution
is winnable and agree to help Phil and join the demonstrations in the States.
Before leaving, Kemosaby shows Phil an arsenal of weapons, which the Native
Americans had gotten from their military connections. Phil takes a ride
in a truckload of weapons and returns to the Vets camp in New Hampshire.
The Vets talk about how useless weapons feel when you’re fighting a Beast
as big as IMC and a False President smart as Nixon.
The
Students come to the camp to ask the Vets to join a peacefully march on
Washington in November. The Vets remember the students last peaceful march
on Chicago and have inside information Nixon is going to be more deadly
then Mayor Daly was.
Nov.
14, 1969 there are 250,000 war protesters marching to the Capital caring
signs, Tyranny has always depended on a silent majority "Inside the Justice
Dept. and the Pentagon. Hundreds of Paratroopers stood at alert that morning
with rifles LOADED."
The
students go to Washington and have a fearful I mean peaceful demonstration.
Nixon has a new strategy, which is media control; He becomes the first
President in the history of the US to control the press keeping it from
printing the Pentagon Papers. As evident as this control was it was also
happening in the pressroom of the White House the media were badgered,
now the demonstrators were living in a new black out so the public didn't
know what the demonstration status was. Nixon was readying the Robert Kennedy
football stadium for a gas chamber to start the extermination of the demonstrators
who remained in Washington.
However
the antiwar protesters come up with the idea for funding a Rock concert
called Wood stock it was going to give the protesters the money they needed
to survive the onslaught of abuses Nixon had in store of them.
Back
at the Vet's camp that dam drug problem emerges again maybe from lack of
participation in the revolution. The students are still hoping for a peaceful
end to Nixon now they are calling for an impeachment, the Vets call this
hopeless dream and stay put with their arms. The Vets are still not ready
for Washington because they want violence and have no funding, which is
a primary commodity if you want to win a real war against the troops Nixon
has living in the Pentagon.
The
Chaplain and Phil have some time to continue their Bible study, Phil tells
about the enlightening experience he had during his meeting with the Dragon
"Ho" Phil realized the Dragon was to big of a battle for the Rider of the
White Horse, The false prophet and the Beast where the extent of his abilities.
The Best is the Industrial Military Complex and the false prophet is Nixon.
Phil is now focused on Nixon who his destiny is with.
The
Chaplain says that would explain why there are two beasts the first was
the one which brought Germany into power; the second is this one having
the power of the first. The Chaplain tells the men to ready for Washington
even without the students and their money.
Just
as the new Volunteers of America were to mobilize news about the massacre
at Kent State University comes out telling how the Marshal guard has opened
fire on unarmed students. The Boston University students send word to the
Vet's camp, that they are now ready to hear about a violent revolution
and its first blood “four dead in Ohio” this is the start of the Revolution
and the president well have to be drawn down.
When
Phil and the Vets arrive back in Boston the City is one big antiwar demonstration.
The Students are amazed to see how big Phil's " Volunteers of America Army"
has gotten the combined force of the Vet, Native Americans and returning
Canadian draft dodger some carrying M 16 rifles was impressive. Boston
was ready to take on Washington.
Nixon
after Kent State becomes even more determine to control the press so he
can be free to react to the demonstration with more lethal force. But the
Rock concerts were something he just had to battle with negative propaganda.
Before
going to Washington with Violence intentions the movement needed money
so the idea of the Wood Stock Rock Concert was promoted. The ticket sales
and organizing effect it had on the movement was overwhelming. It seemed
the American people found another way to vote.
The
Wood Stock concert is so big that it is being called a nation. Phil is
on stage with Arlo Guthry and Joan Boez as Ravi Shankar plays his spiritual
music. Joan's husband is in jail for draft evasion and she is sure that
Nixon will bomb the concert. This is not a concert it's a movement and
Washington is the next stop.
Phil
gets caught up in the free love and at one point has three hippie women
pregnant at the same time. It’s like these new nations wants to grow as
fast as possible. The fact that there are so many men caught up in the
military and in jail makes this baby making a necessity for the women who
want children, Marriage was an institution, which was put on hold during
this tumultuous time.
The
fact was we were in the mists of a revolution which could possible last
a long time, many people where calling Nixon the start of George Orwell's
1984 who predicted a scenario of government control over a counter culture
which was inherently the destiny of our social system. Or you could just
say woman have a self-preservation instinct which take over when they are
caught up in a wartime situation. Nixon still is talking about his silent
majority "the stuff Tyranny is made of" his imaginary supporters, However
he was now being threatened from within Washington, The Washington Post
had started to run stories about the Pentagon Papers. The story was that
the Democratic Party had information concerning the papers at the Watergate
Hotel, which was the Democratic Committee Headquarters.
Nixon's
scheme was to soon call Marshal law and kill the Revolution As he continued
to bomb Vietnam to antagonize the USSR into a War which would make him
supreme command and Chief of the Military.
This
scheme to bomb the Vietnamese into submission was less then just a failure
it resulted in an international condemnation in the United Nations. There
by ending his hopes that the USSR would escalate the War into a World war
three situations failed because USSR intelligence saw that the revolution
in the US was gaining strength and USSR was waiting for the US to have
another Civil War.
Nixon
with innocent blood on his hands from the thousands civilians bomb and
massacred in Vietnam and the students at Kent State, not to mention the
50,000 troops lost and the untold elimination of his opposition the draft
dodgers. He knows that the few friends he had that would defend him against
the Revolution would desert him if they ever found out about the Democrats
having proof of the Pentagon Papers. Nixon devises a plan to have his gang
brake into the Watergate Hotel in hopes of finding the Pentagon Papers.
Nixon's attempt at tyranny really start to fall apart when his gang is
caught by local police braking into the Democratic Office. It was the work
of Police and Detectives similar to the ones in every municipality across
America, which was the beginning of the downfall of Nixon and the ending
of the DARK YEARS. He couldn't buy them out, threaten them, he was caught
and he lost the few supporters he had left and the police throughout the
Country were calling the White House gang "The Plumbers" because that's
what they were degaussed as when they got caught. In 1972 Nixon steals
another election and the reality that the democratic process is now nonexistent,
the country is a dictatorship and the Revolutionary army with funding from
the Wood Stock mailing list starts its siege of Washington. Living on the
Lawn and in the Streets around the Capital. The students set up a headquarters
at the Lincoln Memorial near by the Vets setup a camp up a permanent camp
in the area where their monument will be built. Phil and the draft dodger
must live in the near by city which is only blocks from the Lincoln Memorial.
Nixon
is the first President in the history of the United States, to ask the
Judicial and even get Government control of the press. Nixon's domestic
war against the demonstrators was now being hidden from the public eye.
Washington
is a superficial place and within block of the capital were the black apartments
where hundreds of people could hide. At night the whole town belonged to
the thousands of protesters as they cane put from their daytime hiding
places. Now Jazz became the music which passed the word of peace, "Brother
where are you"
In
1972 Jane Fonda and Ramsey Clark had gone to North Vietnam to start the
release of prisoners now there effort begins what is called the MIA campaign
to try and make sure that our troops that are prisoners don't get killed
by the revenging Viet-Cong who still remember the village massacres by
the US, the Viet-Cong were really mad about Nixon bombing and Jane wanted
to assure the North Vietnamese that the people in the US weren't in support
of his policies.
As
Nixon goes on the defensive about his roll in the Watergate brake in, the
troops he has stationed on standby in the Pentagon begin to think that
Nixon may be cheating about the politics of the war. When Nixon takes control
of the press the troops start to visit the Vets camp to hear what the Vets
have to say about the War being a scheme of the IMC to create defense contract
so they can cheat money from the Pentagon selling over priced weapons,
which wouldn't be needed if there wasn't a war.
News
come from the White House the Vice President has reigned. The troops are
being put onto alert because the demonstrators were assembling in front
of the White House to get Nixon to do the same. A real face to face situation
starts to occur between the Vets and the Troops. The troops gather up 10,000
protesters and put then in the Football stadium, the troops are told to
ready the gas. All this is going on without any news coverage.
It
gets to the point that the high officer at the Pentagon wants to hear first
hand from the Vets. They send a jeep and personal transport to fetch the
leaders of the Vets; little do they know that the leader is a fugitive
for conspiracy Phil. The Vets are amazed at Phil's nerve when they find
that Phil will go to the Pentagon with two of the other Vets.
The
visit is a live in situation as Phil and the two Vets move into the barracks
of the Pentagon troops. The talks are focused on the problem that the troops
have with Nixon's refusal to declare a war in Vietnam and even though so
many men are dying they are not being classified as killed during wartime.
In fact there are certain benefits, which are reserved for only war situations,
and these are being held back.
The
secondary effect from being exposed to the Chemicals specially gent Orange
were showing on the Vet, the number were gotten from the secret service
and we found out the horrible truth that the United States dropped 20 million
Gallons of Herbicides on Vietnam and the Napalm figure were even more classified.
The Vet were getting sick big time and dying, they became the wounded animal
you've always heard not to mess with and they were ready to raise havoc
with DC Nixon has classified this war as a police action which means a
non committed situation and that mixed with the reports of what is in the
Pentagon Paper has these troops feeling that there is a raw deal going
down for the service men. Neither the troops nor the Vets can make sense
of what the hell is happening, the fact these men are told to kill whole
villages of women and children.
Worse
yet for the public was before the press got blocked from Vietnam they got
photos and reports of massacres by drug crazed US troops and were being
printed in the Newspapers and shown on TV resulting in a court case against
army officers who were involved in the killing of 500 unarmed mostly women
and children in a village called My Lie and the Vets were now looked upon
as baby killers, This has the troops discussed and mad at Nixon but he's
the Commander and Chief their not aloud to think these things.
The
Vet finally realizes why Phil insisted he come along even though it put
him in a paroles situation. Phil asks to talk to the Chaplain of the barracks.
Soon the Chaplain is brought to the meeting and Phil talks about Apocalypse
Now and the IMC beast and the false President just when Phil is getting
in to deep and the men are asking him to give his military position background.
Nixon
now tries to cover up what he can of the tyranny he attempted, He calls
for a stop to the bombing in Vietnam and calls for a full withdraw of US
troops. This resulted in a blood bath for the Vietnamese who were cooperating
with the Americans as the North Vietnamese reclaimed their land. Nixon
runs into a real problem with his cover up attempts. He never made any
provision for failure, similar the Hitler whose evil deeds where done with
the thought that he would become a supreme power and never scrutinized.
Hitler and Nixon both counted on their killing team SS men or plumbers,
would make sure by eliminating any opposition.
Now
that there was an inquiry Nixon's Vice President resigns immediately while
Nixon as President can give him a pardon, which he dose. Nixon starts to
Cry, he's got real problems during his reign of terror he had the white
House wired for sound recording to tape any conversations so he could know
if anyone was on to his scheme. He never thought that he would fail and
be investigations, but now the people demand the tapes. He refuses and
wound up erasing the tapes to try and cover up his dark deeds.
October
27, 1973, Nixon is being called to show the tapes. He's really at the end
of his rope and has one desperate card left to play. He places the US foresees
around the World on Alert. He know that the Russians will respond to this
and he might have been hopping that the Russian would sense that he was
going to attack in Syria and Egypt who are Russian allies. If he could
get a big enough war started he could get his wartime powers and dismantle
any and all opposition in Washington with the troops.
TASS
which is the Russian saw through Nixon plot to use them and they called
him "ABSURD" saying his plan was designed to intimidate the Soviet Union
so he could postpone a news conference about his involvement in Watergate
and his controlling the election. Outsides on the lawn the demonstrators
are now moving toward the White House and Phil is being pushed against
the fence the showdown day is finally here the Courts with Judge Serica
are moving to slow. Nixon can still order a strike on Syria or Egypt and
the Russians will have them attract Israel and then all hell will brake
loose, Nixon will live through it he has an underground bunker and air
force one when the smoke clears he'll be safe and in control.
The
demonstrators are forcing the attack over the fence Phil and The Troops
from the Pentagon have already made deals with the Vets and have let the
demonstrators out of the Football stadium. The only thing keeping Phil
out of the White House was the fence and the last of the White House gang
protection the president, maybe a hundred guns. Phil is with the Vets who
are timing the assault on the white house the mission was to go in and
take him out by the neck. One woman there was at Kent State the day the
Marshal Guard opened fire on the students. She lost her close friends and
with her now is a sister of one of the women shoot.
Nixon
afraid of being hung announces that it will resign coming on the television
crying. He works out a deal that if he resigns he might not have to go
to jail, but for his gang there would be no deal the plumbers his inner
circle would be sent to prison. A spokes person from the Democratic Party
comes to tell Phil of the settlement with Nixon. Trying to avoid a violent
revolution. Asking Phil not to jump the fence and terminate Nixon. The
fact is that Nixon is now offering his resignation and the Vice President
is already gone this double resigning is paramount to full victory for
the devolution.
Phil
is happy with the settlement in so much his being shoot on the front lawn
of the white house was likely. The Vets were satisfied with the dog running
out with his tail between his legs scenario so, they gave thumbs up to
the Nixon dishonorable resignation. However there was one stand off the
women who lived threw Kent State. She had seen her friend die and blood
for blood was her demand.
The
problem was there was already a three party system in the revolution, Phil
Chief and the Vets as might and the SDS as the brains. The women's demand
had weight and Phil had to apses her so he comes up with some on the spot
bargaining chips.
Phil
promises that he will not forget the blood at Kent State and he would promise
to dedicate his time and life to the creation a Kent State Memorial. The
women and her friends design the memorial, which is a 10-meter brass Statue
of Lady Liberty standing with a flower as if she was trying to put it into
a rifle. Under it a dedication to the women who died to keep own men from
drying. The base of the monument is made up of big books the largest and
one that the others lean against is labeled Philosophy.
After
drawing a sketch of the monument she agrees and the settlement is make
the revolution is over. Just as Phil is starting to play the flute thinking
he might be the next big shot even the immediate President. The Chaplain
come over with a really important Bible study he shows Phil the passage
that puts the flutist very much beneath Jesus. Phil is humbled at the thought
of his folly and slips away from the crowd unnoticed.
The
Government offices had enough with the protesters who received what they
wanted and asks them to leave the government is still not sure about what
to do about Phil who unlike the other has a conspiracy charge on him. They
come into the crowd to arrest Phil thinking he is the one who is saying
that the new president is not worth because he was an appointee of Nixon.
Phil is nowhere to be found. Where's Phil?
Phil
is not the only one who still has problems with the Government. The Vets
are now facing an even harder battle to have Vietnam “now only called a
police action” officially declared a war.
Sounds
so easy but there were reasons the Government wanted to forget about what
had happened in Vietnam and a memorial would only bring attention to the
War, which was a mistake or even a blunder or aggression.
Whatever
the reason this was going to be a long protest and the men who that were
doing the protesting were not in the best of health. Not like the college
gang Phil was used to, or even the Vet camp up North. These were the sickened
lot from the Agent Orange gas and the other chemicals, which were dropped
on them during this nightmare war. And of course there was the white china
damage, from having a war in the center of the opium bowl.
Phil
feels that he has a debt to the Vets for their hell in ending the war.
So he soon finds himself in the center of another protest. There is the
benefit that his is a safe place where the G-men would never think of looking.
And with a phone call home Phil finds out from his luck bother the C.O.
who is free as a bird now that the G-men are looking still for him.
Not
far from the white hose is the site were the Vietnam Memorial will be latter
“very much latter” because the Government saying that it was a Vietnam
Civil war and the United States just helped the Southern part. If this
was going to be the DC story it would mean that the 50,000 killed and hundreds
of thousands hurt would not be considered war Veterans “a title they very
much deserved” and there by they would lose certain benefits and accommodations
and most of all the honor of having a Memorial to remember the ones who
did not come back.
To
describe the camp would be like taking you back to the trail. When men
were trying to walk in mud up to their waste and the Cong all to familiar
with the terrain was always on the invisible on solid ground shooting down
and seeing men trying to carry the injured only to sink deeper into death.
The
camp reeked with the smell of the grim Reeper and only one could almost
understand why the men were so willing to cover it by the smell of smoke
of any kind. There was always a cloud over this area ever in the day the
light could not penetrate the foreboding hunting of the Reeper’s presence.
The untimely deaths of so many men was still taking its toll on the ones
who were rushed out in peaces to die here in a mud hole called the swamp
of DC a new pit of death.
