His skull-shaped mask glows underneath the spotlight that shines down from high above. Slowly Paine makes his way down to the ring, where he climbs the steps and enters the ring. Slowly he makes his way to the center, where he beings to raise his hands high above his head, once they nearly reach each other, Paine quickly drops them causing lighting to rain down from above hitting all four corner posts, and bringing the lights back up. Paine calls to the timekeeper to hand him a mic. Then he walks to the center of the ring once again...and pauses just a moment before he begins to speak. Kid: Well, it's Paine...Whatever he's doing, he's not looking happy. T.J.: Well, that's typical of him. Paine: "Well...where do I begin? Would you all like to hear where I have been? Why I have been scarcely seen, just here and there since well before Spring Thing? Do you people want to know why I...the living monster...the demon of the SFWL have not shot a promo or even dared to voice my opinion on anything that has transpired recently? I'm sure...that you do not. However, I feel inclined to enlighten you all. You see, oh so many months ago...during one hellacious battle...a part of a long War if you will, between myself and one Mike Torment I was injured. I tore ever so slightly a ligament in my knee, yet I continued to fight. I continued to battle in and out of the ring head to head with Mike Torment. My hate and desire to see him crumble drove me forward, and I ignored the pain. Then at one of the biggest PPV matches of all time, Wargames, my knee reached a breaking point...and the ligament gave way. Chris Steele locked me in that Sharpshooter and would not release the hold...he held on pulling...tearing at my knee. I had no choice...I had to tap out. Chris Steele walked away from that match the World Champion...and I...I walked into what seemed a final confrontation with Mike Torment. I...against all advice from every doctor and SFWL official...decided to continue with the match...I decided to put it all on the line against Mike Torment. We faced off with our careers hanging in the balance, it was a match that culminated with two great realizations for me. The number one realization was that head to head, I could not distroy the Bastards and Mike Torment, I could not over come them. So, I picked up the phone...and I called Mike Torment and I struck a deal with the devil. I agreed to align with him in an attempt to over run the SFWL. A feat that he wanted desperately, but me...I only wanted on the inside. And from within, I was going to currupt and crush his stable and his career. Which brings me to the second realization that I had after that match with Torment. For all my power, and ability...for all my strenghts and unstoppable desire...I can be injured. I can have my career taken away. My life has become the SFWL. I live here in this place with every desire to once again become the SFWL World Champion, and yet...I could not hold onto it. My knee had to have surgery. So, I went. I had my knee operated on and I, began to take time off from the SFWL. I began to question my motives and my reasons for even being here in the SFWL. Then, this discovery by Torment. His...his..pre-mature learning of the secret I was going to use against him. That he had a brother. (Laughs) A brother whom he believed to be me. All was not lost, was it. I still had an advantage...so I let him linger on his belief that I was his older brother. So, I picked up the phone and called Michael Torment. I made the arrangement...and I set everything up. My knee still not at 100% I competed at Ultra Slam against Tirok Siban, again against the doctor's advice. Yet the match went off well...and I didn't aggrivate the injury any more. Of, course you all saw the final results. Watched as ever so slowly, Mike Torment's life slide down into the gutter. I waited...and worked and planned so long for such a thing. I masterminded it all...I was rejoiced as I watched my enemy crumble after the realitization that the Professional was really his older brother. That the Professional, who had been there all along, only wanted to see Mike Torment fall as well. Tirok Siban, Shin Ja Rue, all of them...all of them...were merely pawns in my game. My...Game. Then in the blink of an eye the game, was no longer a game. Reality struck and not only did the father die...but the lover as well. Torment...(laughs)...I couldn't have planned it better my self. T.J.: What!? Paine: I wanted to see you crumble Mike...I wanted to see you fall...I wanted to watch you suffer like I have had to suffer my whole life! I wanted to watch you...exist like you are doing now. You think that I enjoyed my time in that hospital. Do you think I enjoyed my time rotting inside that cold, padded room for all those years!? I came to the SFWL with my heart full of hate and desire to be something. I wanted to be a great wrestler, for the simple fact that hurting people was the only God Damned thing I have ever been good at!! I walked through those doors and I worked match after match, tossed body after body onto the side of the higway to hell, just to have you walk in behind me and climb straight to the top! I have lived a life so horrible and vile that no man knows the darkness in my soul...no man ever could. Yet, I wanted to show you...I wanted you to know...because you think your some great man...a powerful man...even a god! No Mike...you are no god! You are just a man...the same as I. I did my best...I did everything within my power to bring you down...and in the end...my body gave on me. My body gave on me and yet you still stood at the top. My hate for you Mike Torment has no end, it has no...end. When I heard of Heather's death...when I heard that she had died...I....I...smiled. I don't ever think I can be as happy ever again as I was that day. T.J.: I can't...I...my god...that's just plain sick! The crowd is booing Paine loudly. Paine: My knee is healed Mike. I am back in the SFWL at 100% and it is time for me...ME…to ascend to that peak where Mike Torment once stood. I am the only man capable of it. That place belongs to me! Not Bowers, not Fella, not anyone...anyone!! I came out on Unleashed and I dismantled Torment in front of the world. I beat him like he was nothing. I did this purely for fun. I could have continued it. I could have made it last a thousand lifetimes, and I would have enjoyed every single second of it, but there really was no point. No point at all. Mike Torment's bastards are dead...and Mike Torment...he's as good as dead. I have sat at home for three days straight, waiting for tonight. Waiting for this moment when I would walk out here and tell the world that I have returned. I have returned to stake my claim...I have returned from the brink of self doubt. I have returned from injury...I have returned...to once again...be the LIVING MONSTER THAT IS... The lights in the arena go out. Green laser stencils “The Future” in the ring, the words being broken up a little as the laser passes over the body of Paine. “Ya Mama (Push the tempo)” by FatBoy Slim starts to pound out from the speakers around the arena. The crowd rise to their feet as the Jumbotron counts down: 5…4…3…2…1… The music pauses for a second as a voice speaks out over the speakers. VOICE: “I think it’s just about time you shut the hell up mate…” “Ya Mama” explodes into life as the crowd start cheering. Green pyro explodes around the Jumbotron, down the ramp and from the tunbuckles. Green strobe fills the arena as lasers stencil in the sky. A single white spotlight picks out a figure standing at the top of the ramp, the microphone still raised to his mouth. The man is of course Chris Steele. The crowd erupts even louder and starts off a frenzied “Steele, Steele” chant. T.J.: It's Chris STEELE!! Kid: About time someone came out! Paine’s mind is completely sickened! Chris Steele raises his arms into the air, as the crowd erupt again. Steele is wearing baggy white freeze ‘pants’, a tight white longsleeved top, his silver Oakleys and a silver “24/7” bandana. Paine is fuming in the ring. Chris Steele walks down the entrance ramp and climbs into the ring. Chris Steele gets right in Paine's face. Steele: *smirks* “Wow Paine, you’re my hero…You’re so big and strong and tough….Y’know, picking on some guy that’s been through more in the last couple of weeks than you’ll ever go through…Who’s game has gone through the FLOOR! He still have to kick him when he’s down huh?! Just so you can actually come out of something as a WINNER for once!” The crowd are cheering on Steele loudly. Steele: “Well Paine let me tell you this now…You AREN’T the big bag legend that you think you are…You aren’t the unstoppable machine, spewing forth fire and brimstone at all of those who stand in your way…*Steele chuckles* In fact I remember you tapping out like a baby when I locked in that Sharpshooter at Wargames! Blah blah blah, so you had ligament damage…Which of us in the SFWL HASN’T been injured at one time or another…” Steele rips off his top to show the heavy strapping still over his shoulder, collarbone and chest. The crowd start wolf whistling as Steele throws the top out into the crowd. T.J.: There’s our crowd pleaser right there! Steele: “The thing is, most of us just get on about it, not whinging about how it cost us matches…Whoop-de-doo Paine, you’re back! But you ain’t having it all your own way…You’re NOT gonna pick on some guy who’s career and personal life lies in tatters just to make yourself look the big man, it’s time you started picking on someone your own size…” The crowd are chanting and cheering. Paine is eyeing Chris Steele suspiciously, anger in his eyes. Kid: Steele just said his own size right?! T.J.: If Chris Steele thinks he’s Paine’s own size he’s somewhat mistaken! Paine’s got a foot in height and over 100 pounds of weight on Steele! Kid: If Steele’s come out to brawl he’s gonna get seriously hurt! I think he’s letting his heart rule his head again! Steele: “So if ya wanna come back with a bang Paine lets do it…right here right now, you and me…Let’s not involve Mike Torment, he’s got his own problems to deal with…” Chris Steele hoofs the mic into the crowd and pulls up his forearm strapping. Paine is seething. The crowd are behind Chris Steele all the way. Kid: I don’t know what Steele thinks he’s doing! You’ve made your point Chris, and made it well, but time to get out of that ring… Chris Steele slaps Paine. Chris Steele is laughing wildly. Chris Steele slaps Paine again.
