WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?

In order to get us reflecting on what we might think or believe about a topic or issue, let us take a poll!

Polls are a part of our society, whether that comes in the form of a census, a phone poll seeking information from clients, a poll that tries to determine past trends, and possible future trends, polls that help news viewers determine health and safety trends, etc.

Polls could play an important part in the classroom too! Issues such as "when" and "how" polls could be taken could come up. The results could be displayed in a variety of ways (bar charts, circle graphs, etc.). As well, examining how polls are conducted in society, could lead the class to see the bias in polling (who is being asked?, when are they asked?, what major news event is going on at the time of the polling?, how is the question phrased? how many people are being asked? Etc.) Better yet, the website could be used right in the classroom too! Your poll would be open up to anyone in the world (best to preview the site first).

Every few weeks, we will attempt to update the SFU Module poll. Anyone is free to take part! Please restrict your voting to once per question.

If you have any questions for future polls, email them to us here:
