I attended the University of Utah during the 1998-1999 academic year completing course work towards a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physiology. While at the U of U, I was employed as a Research Assistant in Utah's Human Performance Research Laboratory. My primary research interests during this time included exploring mechanisms of Neuromuscular Fatigue and Thermoregulation in individuals with Multiple Sclerosis.
I earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Arizona in 1995. The primary focus of this graduate work was to begin to understand the impact of the central nervous system on neuromuscular fatigue. This is also where I began my teaching career in the sciences. I taught the following courses while at the UA: Anatomy & Physiology Laboratory, Sport Physiology for Coaches, and a variety of Sport Activity courses.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biology at Kean College of New Jersey (now Kean University) in 1993. I took a variety of courses in the biological sciences, chemistry, and physics while pursuing this degree. In 1995, I was employed as an Adjunct Professor at Kean College of New Jersey.
