Applying
These instructions should to be followed when filling out an application in order to make things simpler for the Fighter Defense Force command.

Character's Name
1. This name will be the one you go by on the site.
2. It can be your real name or a made-up name.
3. The name should correspond to your species.
4. Nicknames are discouraged. It is difficult taking orders from an officer named "Superman".
5. If you are human, please use a first and last name. Species who only use one name are permitted to use only one name.
6. No Borg Designations.
7. Do not use names already used in Star Trek. They already have their place in Star Trek. You can use a character's first name or last name, but use of a last name is discouraged, as it tends to get confusing very quickly. If you do use a last name, it is recommended that you use one from the Original Series or Enterprise; it's easier to be related to a real character if they're long since dead.

Character's Date of Birth
1. The current year is 2378.
2. Please try to make your character at least 18 years of age; not everyone is Wesley Crusher.

Email Address
1. It must be typed correctly and be a valid account.
2. Entering it twice checks for possible typing errors.
3. All emails are checked prior to acceptance of applications.
4. Applications with invalid email addresses will be deleted.

Department
1. Each applicant will need to specify a 1st and 2nd choice of Department.
2. Only departments listed are available.
3. Within each department, there are several positions. To see a list of available positions, go to the Members page. Remember, jsut because a position has a certain rank listed, it does not necessarily mean the person placed in that slot will immdiately be given that rank.

Species
1. The species listed are the most common. If you desire another, choose "Other" from the pull-down menu and put the species choice in the next box. This also goes for individuals of multi-species (i.e. 1/2 Bajoran, 1/2 Human).
2. Made-up species are generally discouraged. If you do want to invent your own, you will be asked for more detail about the species before your application will be accepted.

Why are you interested in this RPG?
- Sell yourself here. Give the FDF a reason to want your membership.

Have you ever been in an RPG before?
1. Self explanatory, a simple yes or no is sufficient.
2. This question does not disqualify an application if the answer should be "no". Everyone has to start somewhere, after all. It is merely for the knowledge of FDF command.

Welcome E-mail
1. Applicants will receive a Welcome E-mail once they have been accepted.
2. The Welcome E-mail is also to check the validity of your e-mail address.
3. The Welcome E-mail will also explain the next step to be enter the Academy.

Disclaimers and General Guidelines for Conduct
1. The Fighter Defense Force command is not responible for lost applications. Note, if you have not recieved a response to your application within a week's time, attempt it again. Geocities forms are sometimes a tad touchy.
2. The Federation Defense Force is an RPG website available to people of all ages. Do try to remember this in your conduct towards others.
3. This site was created to have fun. This objective will not be hindered by those who insist on having fun at other people's expense. This includes FDF command. If you, as a member, find that command is violating your trust or your rights, an independant review board will be set-up to look into your claim and make sure that command is not over-stepping its bounds.
4. What occures within the RPG enviornment is under the jurisdiction of the FDF command. Anything said or done outside the RPG is outside the purview of command.
5. Discrimination will not be tolerated.
6. Not all views voiced by members of the FDF are those of the FDF command. Debates, opinion polls, and free speech are encouraged and protected, provided they do not harm the enjoyment of others and their civil rights.
