SFBOL SC4QT
Size Class 4 Squadron Tournament
This Tournament is to show that real commanders don't slug it out in comfy cruiser commands. Real captains are down in the trenches commanding squadrons of Frigates and Destroyers. Where a single mistake can spell disaster not only for your ship, but for your fellow squadron mates.
The Size Class Four Squadron Tournament (SC4QT) is based on 300BPV. Each player will pick a race to use, and then will get to pick what squadron among those listed for the race he will use in the tournament. Each squadron has a minimum of 3 ships per race. And a maximum of 4 ships per race. ALL ship's will be Size Class 4. Each race allowed will have at least two squadron packages. Many races will have multiple squadron packages. There will be no mixing of squadrons.
See Section R1 for squadron selection.
What do I get for participating? Honor Prestige the envy of your peers. Incidentally the winner of the SC4QT will have three months added to his SFBOL account.
B1. Scenario Set Up:
Starting Conditions:
Year: 180
Weapon status: WSIII
Map: 84X60 Fixed. The only terrain is the Tournament Barrier (P17.0).
Player A: hexes 2010C, 1911C, 2009C, (1910C Fourth ship only).
Player B: hexes 6551F, 6552F, 6650F (6651F Fourth ship only).
Starting speed: Minimum of 12 may go up to 31. (Previous turn's minimum speed was 15. For Braking energy calculations.) All Turn Mode and Side Slip requirements have been met.
B2. GAME START DEADLINE:
Each game for each round MUST be started on or before the date listed for each round. (Included in the start and deadline information for the round.) This will give 3-4 weeks to commence a game. If a particular game has not commenced the Tournament organizer may at his discretion remove one or both players from the tournament and one to two replacement players will be selected to complete the game.
RE-Entry Replacement Players will have a maximum of two weeks to complete the game in question. If one of the original players is still participating and the game is not finished before the deadline the remaining original player will automatically advance to the next round. If BOTH players are replacement then both are blocked from the next round and the next available replacement player that has NOT played will advance to the next round.
C1. Rules Not Used:
All rules for ship/races not allowed in the SC4T. (For Example: Since there are no Jindarians (currently) allowed. The Warp Railgun rules are not used.) Any and all rules not in use by Y180 are excluded. Note See F section for Drone availability changes.

Basically any rule not listed in Section C1 is in use. Some rules not listed are obviously not needed. Such as Campaign repairs. Anything that needs to be added to the C1 list should be brought to my attention. Before play starts.
C2. Rules Used:
*Note: Electronic Warfare: Is in full use. Drone Construction FD10 is in use.
Racial Squadrons All ships have the Y175 Refit, (if applicable). All drone racks are loaded with a combination of Type I Medium Speed and Fast Drones (see Drone section.). Type IV's can be substituted to free up points for various other Drone only improvements.
UIM Is a special case. Ships with UIM as standard equipment have UIM. Ships with UIM listed as a refit must purchase UIM with their Commanders options. See the FAQ for more details.
FD Rules:
FD10 is in effect for Drone Construction. Fast Drones are considered to be Restricted Availability. (The Cruisers still get most of them.)
ECM Drones
MAY have their Availability Changed to Limited. It will be announced before Tourney start.
R Section:
Races Not Allowed
R:15:Jindarians: Are not included in this particular SC4QT. They may be included in the next SC4QT. (After I buy the revised F1 module.)
No Playtest races will be included. (Unless I have a Shield Galaxy Squadron drop in.)
S Squadron Selection and Replacement Re-entry Rules.
ENTRY:
Each Player will select Five Squadrons. Numbered 1 to 5. The number one squadron is the first pick. Number two the second etc. Only one squadron may be selected for each race. So as shown in the entry format below. I would have picked Federation, Tholian, Hydran, Orion, ISC.
Each squadron is limited to one player. So if Player A who submitted earlier had picked Federation Squadron DDL+, DDG+, DD+ 5 COs, that squadron would have already been selected and would no longer be available. Then the squadron selection would move to my next squadron, and so on.
RE-ENTRY/REPLACEMENT:
When a player is defeated in the first round. (Or subsequent rounds he will be treated as a Re-Entry/Replacement if a game is not done.). His #5 Squadron pick will be the first re-entry/replacement choice and if it has been selected by another player then the #4 and so on. If none of the selected Squadrons is available a random squadron will be selected among the remaining squadrons.
RANDOM SQUADRON:
A random squadron will be picked for the re-entry/replacement player if none of the original five squadrons is selected. A player may Exclude up to two races. (Andromedan are never included as random assignments.)
EXCLUSION:
A player may select up to two races to be Excluded. Excluding all Omega AND Simulator races can be a single racial exclusion. Simply include Omega as an excluded race and no Omega or simulator races will be picked for random assignment.
R/R DETERMINATION:
Re-Entry Replacement players are selected among the players that finish their round first see above in section B2 for more information. IE the first player to report being defeated would have the first Re-Entry/Replacement slot available. During the first round the Re-Entry player will be randomly assigned to a round one opponent who has received a *BYE/RR*.
Unless otherwise indicated each player will be assumed to have opted IN for the re-entry replacement option. If the player does NOT want to participate then they need to Include RR NO in the email.
REGISTRAITION:
Sign ups will open 6-1-05. And Close 7-5-05. Simply Email me the race you want (Example included below) The squadron selection will be processed in a first come first served basis. The Listing of Squadrons will be updated daily during weekdays and once on the weekend. Any entries arriving after processing has begun will be processed the next day/opportunity.
Use the Following Format: (Any Entries not submitted within this format will be returned to sender with an advisement of why it was returned.)
Items in Bold are what need to be submitted.
