| The Shield Galaxy races will not encounter any of the Alpha sector, (or "normal" SFB races, other than the previously mentioned; Andromedans, Seltorians, and (Neo) Tholians. Currently everything has to go through Petricks desk to be approved for initial playtesting. There will have to be at least four races ready to go for playtesting.. |

| Ventu: Use the dreaded Soton Torpedo to become one of the premier SG races. Status: Cleared Lorkesh: Use Layered Shield Technoogy and the Warp Gauss Rifle. Status: On Petricks desk Sritan: The premiere drone users of the Shield Galaxy and main users of Heavy Phaser cannons. Status: Not yet reviewed on my PC. Myrmidon: A secondary race that uses the SAMC to keep from being swalloed up by their 3 larger neighbors. Status: Reviewed and ready for SPP. Xonos: Extradimensional Invaders from another reality. [/announcer voice] Status: Reviewed and ready for SPP Swarm: A race of nano-bots that form (living?) starships from their own bodies. Status: Reviewed and ready for SPP Hyperian: Living oilslicks Status: Not yet reviewed on my PC. Principality Alliance (PA): A loose alliance of worlds that are desperate to avoid being swalloweed by the larger powers. Status: Not yet reviewed on my PC. |
| The Shield Galaxy (SG) is nothing more than a working title at this time. It was picked since half the new races use a different take on shield technology than the standard SFB (or LMC) races. The existing races (Andromedan, Seltorian, Neo-Tholian) are not directly connected to the Alpha versions of those races. You'd have to go back to the Tholian home galaxy to connect them. So the SG Tholians use Particle cannons as well instead of Disr. The Andromedans though come from wherever the bloody Andromedans come from. |
