I weigh 191 pounds today! A couple more pounds and I'll be below 190; "I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it" :-) Yesterday was my 2 months Post-Op anniversary, and I've already lost 38 pounds & 31 total inches. I'm still waiting for the day when absolutely none of my pre-op clothes fit me anymore, though; or at least none of the bottoms. I found out a couple weeks ago that my aunt is having the surgery this coming Monday (9-27-04) in Louisiana. I'm so excited for her. It will be nice to have somebody else in the family that understands what I'm going through.
As for food, I'm having trouble finding food that really appeals to my taste buds. Everything tastes so bland. I'm glad that I don't like bread, ice cream, or candy bars, but unfortunately, I still like the taste of chips. Fortunately, I've been able to keep myself away from them by telling myself that I need protein more than I need carbs :-) I really want a salad, but I'm still not supposed to have that, yet.
For the most part, I refuse to deprive myself of things (unless I'm absolutely not supposed to have them, yet - like salad). If there is something that I'm craving, I let myself try it; of course, I usually end up not caring for it afterwards, which I'm happy about. Last week, I REALLY wanted crazy bread from Little Caesars, so I bought some. It smelled so good, but it just didn't taste the same. That is the one thing that I was kind of disappointed about not liking b/c crazy bread use to be my special treat that I had on rare occasions.
I haven't had much time lately to experiment with cooking to see if I can find something that doesn't taste bland. School (I'm in Graduate school at SFA) this semester is very hectic for me; I have practicum in the morning and classes in the evening. In addition to that, I have to find time during the day to workout, get my homework done, and make myself eat and drink enough water. I'm really having trouble making myself drink enough. I know, I know: sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk. The walking I've got down; the sipping I need to work on some more.
