2000-01 Summary
Once again, the Mariner's record did not reflect the amount of time, effort, and energy put forth this season by both the players and the coaching staff. The Mariners finished with a conference record of 4-12, an overall record of 6-15, and a lot of memories.

Some highlights of the season included: defeating Luther Prep on their home-court (49-37), defeating Cudahy on their home-court (65-56), almost defeating Slinger (2001 D2 Runner-up) on our Senior Night (49-55), and JQ's school record of scoring 35 points in a single game (in a 61-54 win at Shorewood).  Junior JQ Stewart ranked 3rd in the conference in points scored, 1st in FG's attempted (225), 2nd in FG's made, 3rd in FT's made (46), and 4th in rebounding (129).  Senior Arica Buretta ranked second in the conference in 3 Point
FG percentage (37.5%).

Contributing to the Mariner effort were: Seniors Arica Buretta, Andrea Buretta, Megan Frank, Sara Wall, Jayme Zimmer, Chris Schultz, and Hilary Carr; Juniors Juquita "JQ" Stewart, Christine Jelacic, Jackie Wier and Anne Leichtle.  Sohpomores Becky Kais and Erica Binder, as well as freshmen Amanda Dieter and Gina Karas, also contributed to the Varsity squad in the WIAA Regional loss to New Berlin West (42-63).
